TFC-004 Gear of War Transformers Accessory Set for Mirage, Inferno, Sideswipe

Took me long enough to open and utilize these. For those new to the TF classics hobby, fans felt that figures like Inferno, Sideswipe, Red Alert, Mirage, and Soundwave was missing some trademark weapons. TFC catered to fan demand and created add ons such as Red Alert/Sideswipe's missile launchers, Inferno's ladder and arm cannon, Mirage's shoulder rocket and invisibility box, and an extra minion for Soundwave. The weapons were intended to be used for the Henkei versions due to the chrome/metallic properties, but they work fine with the Hasbro versions as well. The results.... well, see for yourself.

 

 

Box is box. Nice prologue on what's stored for the collector as he opens the toy box. On the last pic: (L to R) Mirage's invisibility box, instructions (poster in the other side), Inferno's Arm Canon/Ladder, 3 missile launchers, and Soundwave's Auto-scout plus 4 energon crystals.

Transformers Generations Skids IDW Thrilling 30 Review!

I missed Skids the first time around when he was released late 2013. The first run of Skids ended up suffering leg issues from those who did get him the first time around. The problem I've heard was that he had trouble bending his legs at the hips though this was easily fixable. How easy, I ain't sure but it would had been cumbersome to repair or fix a toy that came mis-assembled when you first opened the box.

Thank God that I ended up missing out on the first batch as he was re-released not too long ago. This time Hasbro fixed the leg bending issues. I had to get Skids, not due to Michael Bay's atrocious representation of him, but he was a G1 character in the G1 series overall. He only appeared in two episodes I remembered in season 2 though his design was different and he only spoke one line total during both appearances! The figure displayed here is based off of his IDW comic book design. Let's get started!

Thank God for Hawaii! Koko Head Hike!

What a beautiful day to hike in gorgeous Hawaii. Got up 5:30AM in the morning for this workout! Though its not a real hike and more cardio, nevertheless, I took on the challenge again. Boy, though I am in shape, my thighs were getting stiff half way through. I thought of quitting. But I remembered the Lord and asked him for strength. I asked and he gave me the strength and determination to reach the top!

Transformers Generations Leader Class Jetfire review! (2014)

So this is why you shouldn't make a hasty decision in investing in a voyager class Jetfire/Skyfire because here is Generations Leader Class Jetfire!  And you thought that it couldn't get any bigger. Also in the background is http:www.toyhax.com's Cyberscape back drop which I will get to a little more in detail after.  Let's get started!

Looking impressive. There is an advertisement for Roadbuster who is canon in the G1 comic continuity. He is part of Springer's wreckers. Yes, I have the figure since I thought anyone that sides with Springer is awesome. I got him for $20 so not bad. Now for robot mode. There will also be some comparisons to the Henkei Voyager Skyfire version.

Transformers Henkei Skyfire/Jetfire C-06 Retrospective Look! Voyager 2008

Henkei Henkei! I couldn't pass up Skyfire when I picked up Henkei Sunstreaker from Edbomber.com which is now known as Toydojo.com. I picked up Henkei Skyfire for $45 when he was going rare at the time. I could remember him being so rare that he went as high as $80 on Ebay.com. Without further delay, lets take a look at him. The pics were taken back in 2012.

Transformers Universe Inferno Classics 2.0 Restrospective look! (2008)

What good is Red Alert without his buddy Inferno? If you are a G1 fanatic then you know the history between them. For starters, long story cut short, they had each others back as both of them were pretty much fire rescue... can't believe I'm using that word. Red Alert is more security administrative but he helps fight fires nonetheless. Inferno, however, was more battle prone, always eager to fight rather than stand on the sidelines. Red at one point was injured during a sneak Decepticon attack and suffered paranoia, thinking that the autobots wanted to deactivate him. Not to mention, he thought Inferno betrayed him when Inferno left his side to help Optimus Prime in battle. Later on, Red befriended Starscream though the latter easily betrayed him to side with Megatron again. The autobots came to Red's aid and Inferno saved Red from an impending explosion from the Negavator, a weapon that Starscream and Red intended to use to destroy anyone that stood in their way before Starscream's turncoat. After Inferno saved Red, Red Alert no longer doubted Inferno's loyalty. The two had become inseparable ever since.

That is one neat looking box. I got this used from seller in Oregon who sold it to me back in 2011 roughly for $40 shipped. I was lucky for Inferno went as high as $70 at that moment. And we are only speaking the hasbro release and not Henkei. I love how even for used, the seller kept the packaging nice and sturdy.

Transformers Generations Red Alert Restrospective look! (2010)

It was inevitable that I ended up getting the other Sunstreaker/Sideswipe mold known as Red Alert. Originally released back in 2009 as an Henkei exclusive, Hasbro catered to fan demand for a western release. By the time then, The Classics Robots in Disguise and Universe line sailed away and thus came in the Generations line. Red Alert came just in time to become part of that line. What were the results? How did it fare with the Henkei version? Well, I can tell you the Hasbro one at least.

Thank God for a great and final day in Seattle, Washington Sept 5-6, 2014 (pics galore redux)

So I decided to post the two last days here in my Northwest trip; both Sept 5 and 6. More emphasis on the 5th of course since my last day was only half a day.

So this time we weren't in that much of a hurry to get back to Seattle. Because due to morning traffic, we held off driving to Seattle until 9:00AM from Portland, Oregon. Darn, Portland had very good weather at this time. Hallelujah!

First off, Breakfast at Panera bread! The pics shall fill you in.

So we headed to our road trip back to Seattle. 3 hour drive here we come.... ugh! My sister wanted seafood, so we stop by Alki point when we arrived in Seattle roughly a little after 12PM. You get a nice view of the harbor and the city of Seattle from a distance.

Transformers Henkei Astrotrain D-03 Review (2008)

At long last, I decided to finally open up Henkei Astrotrain. Now I understand that he is probably not as popular when he first came out. I could still remember picking him up 4 years ago for $26 at Bigbadtoystore.com. After awhile, he became rare and his market value went as high as $60. What was it? Was it because he was a triple changer or was it because he had a pretty neat G1 color scheme (Henkei version that is). Let's see what the fuss is all about.

Yep, the neat thing about the Henkei versions is that they give you a stat/trading card and neat black-and-white Manga. I wish I knew what they were talking about.

Transformers Classics Retrospective look! Transformers Universe Sideswipe (2008)

Henkei Sunstreaker apparently wasn't enough. Eventually, I had to get the Sideswipe mold which is nearly identical to the Sunstreaker mold with the exception of their head sculpts. The decision to get the Hasbro version rather than the Takara Tomy was simple: The extra add on- his engine aka his rocket pack.  I was lucky to pick him up MISB for $30 shipped when he was becoming rare to find at the time. Well, without further delay, here is Universe Classic Sideswipe.

Transformers Classics Retrospective look! Transformers Robots in Disguise Classics Deluxe Mirage (2006)

By the time I jumped on the CHUG (Classics, Henkei, Universe, Generations) line, I pretty much missed the boat on the Universe and original Classics line. So in order to get some of these figs, I had to go on Ebay or solicit fellow TF fans on unwanted TF figures. The Henkei Mirage (Ligier in Japan) was going for a walloping $50+ at the time, so my only option was to hopefully get the Classics at a cheaper price. Thankfully, I did. Someone was selling Universe Mirage for $25 used. Take note that Universe Mirage was also the first figure I bought out of the box. Let's get started.
