Transformers Toys Legacy Evolution Deluxe Breakdown Review

At long last Menasor is complete! Without further delay, lets review the final member of the Stunticons and let's get started!

Boxing

I'll admit his artwork looks great.

Out of the box

So BD is a remold use of Wild-Rider. I remember when I fidgeted with his UW version years ago, I was not impressed by this character. His UW version felt boxed in. However, the Legacy version feels more free. The only thing that felt really off was his split looking back; you don't necessarily need to do this but this is supposedly how he looks toywise. But in general, his backpack does look a little too big for him. He is given two weapons which one is a small rifle which works and a boomerang spoiler. The latter is what irks most fans. For me, I wish I could split it in half so you can place it vertically behind his hind legs. Would had helped if he had a peg on his back as well. If you like WR, then BD plays fine as well.

Alt mode

I have the Legacy Evolution pamphlet. I heard the early versions came without the Evo sign and the booklet was a different color. Anyhow, transformation is fairly easy. The spoiler is where its supposed to be, however Breakdown has no real way to implement weapons on this mode. There is a way and that is if you remove his spoiler. Otherwise, it belongs on the bottom of his front hood. He also has the slant peg wheels on his back tires which Hasbro have been using for quite sometime. This mode looks nice overall sans the lack of weapon placement.

Merge to become Menasor!

He is finally complete! How do you like the positioning of the cars? Front or back? For me it doesn't matter but the cars up front bring out more of a personality for him imo. I don't know if I stuck BD into the pegs too tight but I had trouble getting him back out to test play with him a few more times before I wrote this review. You can see the shin flaps don't close all the way for mines. A few collectors have this issue as well.

Conclusion

I wasn't expecting much because he was my least favorite in the UW line. Here he is a definite improvement despite being a lazy remold of Wild-Rider. Cutting costs I believe. They could had done something better with his weapon situation. Like I said, at least have a storage option for it on his robot mode. Once again, you can slice the bugger in half but I'm not that accurate so I rather not try it (yes, some fans did this online). Well, if you are a Menasor fan, here you have it! The good thing about BD is that he isn't difficult to play with nor is he a terrible figure. Works just fine.

Transformers Toys Generations Legacy Deluxe Dead End review

Aloha folks, I am back with another TF Review. I was on a vacation so it led to some delay on Legacy Dead Ends review. Anyhow, here he is and let's get started!

Boxing

The 4th member of the Stunticons though he is listed as the third of 5. Let us see what the figure brings.

Standing tall

By now if you had already played with Dragstrip and Wild-Rider, DE plays very similar. He handles about the same. I feel like he is the best looking of the Stunticons. You can level his shoulder wheels around head level or tricep level. My wheels did come off easy though. Not sure if it's my copy or if anyone else had this problem, but you simply place it back on if this happens. No biggie. His guns are similar to Dragstrip and Wild-rider though the color is different in areas and so is the shape of the guns... a little. He plays fine overall.

Alt mode

Fairly easy to transform into. I ended up using the instructions at one point because I thought his head folded into his chest cavity. It turns out that you fold his head into his back which was awkward I felt. You pop open his shoulders first in order to do this. Anyhow, everything else is downhill from there. I like how you can peg his weapons and fold his tail back to give his weaponry a diagonal aim. However part of his body is so low that it feels like he could be scraping the bottom at times. That's the real bummer actually for this mode.

Menasor! or almost there!

He is almost complete. In order to split DE in two, similar to Dragstrip, use a small pin, clip tip or mini screwdriver etc... and push on to the small rectangular area on his stomach. He should split in two. The only drawback is Menasor gains weight as you plug DE on with the rest of the team. As a result, he starts falling forward. To fix this, you just got to adjust his legs a bit. His sword seriously needs to be bigger and longer.

DE on vacation!

White Sands National Park, New Mexico

Guadalupe National Park, Texas.

Well, he had fun.

Conclusion

The 4th member of the team has arrived. He looks the best of the team. Just my opinion of course. He plays good. No qualms here. The Stunticons are all done nicely so far. Just waiting for Breakdown and that completes Menasor. His underbelly just poses a small problem in alt mode as it almost touches the ground. Otherwise, you are good to go!

Transformers Toys Generations Legacy Deluxe Decepticon Wild Rider review

Aloha folks, I am back finally with another review. It took me some time to due a hectic work schedule and rest period. Finally mustered the strength to pull this guy out whom I had in weeks and did a shoot with him. How does he fare? Well, let's find out and let's get started!

Boxing

His bio and specs are now online. Not sure why they just can't print it on the instruction manual. Pretty soon the manual will be too be online I bet. The box came smashed from Hasbro Pulse when I bought him with Wheelie. Once again I might as well wait and get free shipping with Amazon if I am paying for nearly smashed goods.

Wildrider himself

I don't know much about the Stunticons except for being G1 fame. Wild-Rider looks great; almost identical to his G1 look. His backpack looks a little on the bigger side but I ain't complaining really. He comes with dual rifles that can be paired up to make one big gun. You can peg the dual weapons sideways if that is your cup of tea. You got tilts on his ankles and a waist swivel as usual.

My only real gripe is that he feels very light. This is what we get now for pay $25 plus shipping once again on these upscaled (it feels like it) core class figures which will only get pricier down the road. Well, moving on...

Alt mode

Fairly easy to transform from robot mode to alt mode. It did take me some time but overall, he's not difficult to transform at all. I do love the red transparent windows which is his trademark window color. Beats seeing the same black/blue windows from other characters all the time. I sense a mushroom peg covering coming for this guy for his back wheels... or it's already probably here since I'm reviewing this guy a little late.

The third limb

Menasor is an all American! Yeah, I actually didn't realize it during the photoshoot until I edited the pics. I think Prime would be more fitting, but anyhow here is Wildrider as the left leg. Very easy to put on. It literally closes the flaps on his front shin. However, I turned the legs around because there are some people that prefer it this way with the cars in the front because some artwork depicts him like that. Your mileage may vary and that is it. You can put him on the right shin and he fits perfectly fine if that is your forte as well.

Final words

Well, we got the third Stunticon member and he is not bad at all. Just too light but that seems to be the direction we are heading now. Cheap and light plastic and higher prices! He plays fairly easy and well and isn't a difficult transformation. Also, not hard to place on the Menasor limb. Imagine if you needed some very small screwdriver to place him on like how you place Dragstrip. Can't wait to finish this guy up and hopefully soon. Anyways, have a nice day folks and see you real soon.
