Vengeance is not mines

Dearly beloved, avenge not yourselves, but rather give place unto wrath: for it is written, Vengeance is mine; I will repay, saith the Lord. (Romans 12:19, KJV)

This is something I have to live with everyday. Yes, I had now ex-friends that hurt me by not forgiving me because of past conflicts especially one ex-friend that slandered me and my best friend for no apparent reason. He called forgiveness evil and called us satanists because, well, I dunno. That's how bizarre the situation has become. Most people told me to stop talking to "this man" because they feel he is insane. Had an old friend which is also a ex-friend of "this man" just told me to ignore him. All in all, "this man" has done nothing to rectify the situation. When "this man" is confronted he often tells people that he is just disagreeing with me, but then goes on with his angry rants behind each and everyone of our backs.  Do I forgive this man? Yes, indeed! God commanded us to show love but not to become stepping stones! I've gave him one too many cheeks , and now, I will leave this in God's hands. Until this man can drop his pride and repent of his past, I am to stay away from him. Also, remember that forgiveness doesn't mean you have to trust the person who hurts you over and over again. If you don't agree, then that's fine. I don't see why anyone who would disagree has to get upset long term over someone's beliefs or opinion. Again, I will leave this matter to God to handle.

" Woe unto them that call evil good, and good evil; that put darkness for light, and light for darkness; that put bitter for sweet, and sweet for bitter!" (Isaiah 5:20, KJV)

" Blessed are ye, when men shall revile you, and persecute you, and shall say all manner of evil against you falsely, for my sake." (Matthew 5:11, KJV).

""Hearken unto me, ye that know righteousness, the people in whose heart is my law; fear ye not the reproach of men, neither be ye afraid of their revilings." (Isaiah 51:7, KJV)

"Proverbs 26:4-5
Do not answer a fool according to his folly, lest you also be like him. Answer a fool according to his folly, lest he be wise in his own eyes."

Sometimes nothing can be done. Some people just want to argue, always must be right or have to be heard. I used to be like that but I realized after coming to God that God was in control.  Remember, if the person doesn't hear you and doesn't receive you, shake the dust off your feet and move on. God will have other people come into your life.

Sometimes these thoughts do bother me, but I rather leave this in the lord's hands instead of taking action on my own. Jesus told us to forgive one another and I shall do that. The Lord is in control! The Lord has a plan as always and he has shown the light to another friend of mines recently. Thank you Jesus! What an awesome God we have!
