Age of the Primes Tailgate review with SS86 WIndcharger
And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose Romans 8:28 KJV
I'm finally back with another TF review and this time it is the remold of SS 86 Windcharger: Tailgate. How does he fare? Let's get started!

Standing tall ( w/SS 86 Windcharger)
Couple of things first. I lost SS86 Windy's gun for this shoot so in its place is a custom Igear gun made for Generations Kup which Windy is using for the time being. I didn't shoot a back comparison pic with Windy but its pretty much the same but just different coloring. Now that we get that out of the way, as you can already tell, Tailgate is a re-use of the Windcharger mold. Difference is the head sculpt, gun, chest piece, and rims. Because of this, TG can not place Windy's magnetic shield effect in the front of his chest since the chest piece is a flat surface now. However, you can store the magnetic shield on the back of him.
I won't go much in depth. If you liked SS86 WC, then Tailgate plays pretty much the same. He is supposed to be your G1 up to date incarnation of the figure, but if you watch the tv series or look at some of his charater drawings, his head is shaped more like a head guard that attaches to his shoulders much akin to the likes of Swerve. But I guess this is as close as we get for now. Not much of a qualm quite frankly. He looks good for what it is worth. He still has the ring feet that plagued Windcharger so same feelings if that was problematic to you. He has the same swivels minus the wrist one just like WC.
Alt mode
Same transformation. Easy to transform for the most part. Same mold. Different rims as I have mentioned. TG's chest piece is a bit thicker so you can see the under belly portion in this mode more proximal to the ground. You can still stick the magnetic effect in the front portion of his alt mode. Honestly, I do like the bright white paint here. Usually I find it dull on certain figures but it looks good on TG.
Conclusion
I do like his paint job. He plays the same as WC and I do like both figures. He does still have those weird ring feet though it can help with stabilizing the figure at times so not a total loss but the looks of it can be jarring. Anyhow, get him today to complete your S3 line and Jesus loves you. Until next time.
