Transformers Studio Series 86 -10 Sweeps x2 review Sweep 86 figure. Transformers Toys Studio Series 86-10 Voyager Class The The Movie 1986 Decepticon Sweep

86 Studio Sweeps
Sweeps wanna have fun.

Aloha. Welcome to another 86 studio series review and today we look at Sweep x2! Let's get started!

Note: some of the pics came out soft. I need to do better when taking group shots.

Boxing

The back of the box makes no mention of whether the Sweeps were formerly Kickback and Shrapnel though the same reformat silhouette backdrop is used here as it once served 86 Scourge.

His Huntsman, the Sweeps.

 The gun dilemma.... sorta.

Scourge is the 1st pic here and he holds his rifle fine. Sweep #1 or 3, 4 or 7 has trouble pegging his gun all the way. It was so stiff that I didn't want to put to much pressure otherwise I probably might break his fingernails as some people previously had issues with their Scourge.

As you can see Scourge is a darker blue or purple for that matter. The Sweep is lighter or definitely more bluish looking. This Sweep was able to peg his gun under his fist ok but even on the other hand which is more open, he had difficulty. Also, in case if you haven't been told, Scourge has his closed fist on his right while his left hand sports his open fist. The Sweep has it reversed.

Sweep#2, 5, or 6 if you care that much.

His weapon pegs in just fine.

Swapped out his weapon with the first Sweep (far right) and he has issues pegging his weapon fully.

Back to the first Sweep exchanging weapons with Scourge.  And guess what? His weapon dilemma is fixed! At this point I was really perplexed. He was able to grasp Scourge's weapon with ease and then when I plugged in his own weapon afterwards. He held his weapon just fine now. Although it is a slight, tight fit, the weapon pegged in all the way. Scourge is the leader after all.

Their weapon blaster effects are the same though I can't help but feel Scourge's blaster effect is a little lighter purple. But I won't dwell on this too much.

Scourge and the Sweeps

Scourge and the Sweeps 86 Studio Sweeps

For the most part, the Sweeps are a palette swap of Scourge and some differences like the hand placement. However, the Sweeps have tighter joints and less of a floppy wing than Scourge or at least the versions I have.

86 Sweeps, Legend Scourge, Scourge G1

I never thought I would troop build with this guy but it happened and here it is! Generations Scourge x2, United Scourge, Legends Scourge, Sweep headmasters x3, 86 Scourge, and 86 Sweep x2.

86 Studio Sweeps
Yes, I didn't forget about Galvatron and Cyclonus.

The G1 series mentioned there were 7 Sweeps. If you minus the headmasters here, I have seven here to be exact. Scourge being the 1st and the leader.

Alt modes

86 Studio Sweeps

I managed to do the elevated head reveal gimmick. It does require you to extend the back panel in a raised manner. If you know how to transform Scourge, then the Sweeps are done in the same fashion. The only problem in this mode was my Sweeps had very loose turrets that would pop off every now and then. And it was kinda of chore to re-transform the B-52 Scourges since I haven't touched them in a while. I eventually figured it out but it took some time remembering. Legends Scourge was and still is a breeze.

Conclusion:

Well, I always liked 86 Scourge. Visually he is nice to look at and plays well. The Sweeps are no exception. It's just Scourge done in a lighter blue plus different hand positioning. I think my Sweep army is done. No more for me I say but as for the figures itself, get them to build your 86 army.

Transformers Generations: War for Cybertron: Kingdom Galvatron WFC-K28 Leader Class review!

Aloha folks, today is the maniac king himself, Galvatron! Without delay, let's get started!

Your politicians today are nothing but bad comedy.

"Does anyone else attempt to fill his shoes?" Galvatron: Transformers movie

Boxing/Contents

Galvatron in the flesh! Comes with a chain-in-Matrix from the 1986 film which he held onto until Hot Rod broke the chains off his neck and became Rodimus Prime. The card I received was none other than his former glory and shell: Megatron!

Transformers Generations: Kingdom Voyager War for Cybertron WFC-K9 Cyclonus review!

People want to believe in lies rather than hear a harsh truth.

Aloha folks, today we have none other than our first WFC Kingdom review: Cyclonus! You know the drill. Let's get started!

Boxing

My very first Kingdom figure and review. Comes with a nice artwork on the box, a trading card I do believe is random per figure, never the less, I got Dinobot from Beast wars. This line is mainly going to be Beast wars and I never really had an attachment to BW, so my wallet will rest easy on this line. Galvatron is seen on the Kingdom promo artwork on the side. From what I heard, he is coming!

Standing tall with RTS Cyclonus, 86 Scourge, and TR Galvatron.

Cyclonus the warrior and his Armada! Cyclonus is the tallest of them all! I can only imagine how Galvatron (Kingdom version) will be height wise when he debuts. Hastak decided to go with a lighter shade of purple for this version. In the G1 toons, Cyclonus was often dark purple or lighter. Some people I know prefer the darker purple, like me, and some the light. He comes with a nicely silver painted Y blaster.

Cyclonus has good joints. They work very well. The paint they used all around is nice for him. No qualms really even if I preferred a darker purple. He has this huge gap behind his knee some folks have been clamoring about some time now. I'm ok with it since you aren't looking at his side or behind his knees the entire time.

No claim here on whether he is Skywarp or Bombshell. For all these years, he was Bombshell to fans due to the way his morph sequence was animated in the movie. Years later, the writers/creators/producers state it is now Skywarp. I'm ok with either or but I think the latter now does makes more sense due to Skywarp being far loyal to Megatron (reformatted into Galvatron) than Bombshell. Still, its up to you. Secretly, Cyclonus was Megaman in a previous life as well. He has arm cannons to boot.

86 Scourge looks nice here. He does have the 86 look and feel whereas Cyclonus actually doesn't. Don't get me wrong, Cyclonus looks great but just compare this figure with an 86 anime image of him. Not quite 86. Still Cyclonus is done well for this line. It's Kingdom anyway so he wasn't meant to look 86.

I was missing Nightstick on this review again, so RTS Cyclonus had to just do. As you can see, Voyager Cyclonus is miles bigger and fleshed out in comparison to RTS Cyclo. For years the latter was the classics version. I guess it is conclusive to say Cyclonus is the Kingdom one now. I guess classics can be his Armada.

Alt mode

More gaps!

For the most part, this mode is easy to transform into. I did use the instructions to double check because I did transform his back thrusters wrong. So it was 85% my own and 15% instruction. I love the landing gears both the RTS version and this one had; I just found out on the RTS having landing gear actually. I did transform the RTS version wrong in this one. If you look at his knees which forms the belly, it is touching the ground. No biggie. Another issue was my version, on each side of the cockpit, the tabs don't stay in leaving a small gap on both sides. I captioned it on the pic to give you an idea. Once again, it's probably just my figure.

*Update* My TF buddy said the gaps are normal. Carry on.

Conclusion:

Overall, I did like the Kingdom version. However, if we are to compare him to the 86 Scourge, you probably be a little disappointed mainly because he doesn't have the feel or the look to his anime counterpart. However, he still plays nice and he is worth the $30. At the time of this review, he seems awfully tough to get. He was released back December in some selected stores and supposedly had a wide release by Jan/Feb but he didn't seem to show up here in Hawaii at all. Ebay became my best friend for this guy so expect to pay the extra fees. $43 bucks total shipped which includes a finder's fee wasn't bad at all. He fits well for those who love the 3rd season G1 line. See ya next time.

What are you gaping at?
