Key is to stay busy. These are just the tip of the iceberg I'm sharing from my past year in the island of Oahu. Capturing sunsets, sunrises, and other adventures all over the island. I work 3 12 hr night shifts/ a week, still make time to go on these adventures, relax and eat with friends and family, and still find time to do some Transformer photography. I pay rent also to help my father and mother. No time to be lazy or hatin. I do my best not to beat a dead horse.

I know there is that someone who looks at my blog periodically and just wants to stay angry at me and that is fine. That is also your choice. I moved on a long time ago. Whatever you do is not my business nor do I care.

More adventures to come. Take care folks and thank you Jesus for making this all possible.

Been busy - Sky Lynx on vacation, Outfield Winning it all Tribute

Lots to review but been busy and sometimes too tired to do anything. I was in Waikiki for a staycation a few weeks earlier so some pics of Sky-Lynx (Earthrise) should keep your attention for now. Just found out that Tony Lewis from the band Outfield had passed away. I didn't know this group so well, but they were famous, imo, due to having the official ending song: "Winning it all" in the NBA finals circa 92-96 each year. So here's the song for those who interested to know. Those were the cool NBA days.

The search for Transformers War For Cybertron Earthrise Voyager WFC-E29 Seeker 2 pack SKywarp and Thundercracker

By far one of the most difficult to get Transformers due to what the community calls Scalpers!

I was up 4AM that day and I decided to check the in stock status. It was in stock! Both the Kapolei and Kailua Target branch. Kailua was set to open up shop at 7AM. I left around 640AM only to discover that there was a elderly shopping period that I totally forgot about. So the younger people such as me had to wait until 8AM.

Chickens ran all over the parking lot. For the most part, they aren't afraid to get close to humans.

On the bottom two rows in the middle area.

8AM came and this was the holy grail for the TF collectors. Skywarp and Thundercracker (S and T) in the flesh. There was about 9 left after I took one. There was a big dude before me that took about 2-3. He seemed to be surveying the area after doing lord knows what. I was happy because every time it was in stock I would go to Target only to be disappointed it be out so soon. If you are new to this S and T are Target exclusives. On the first week of release date (early July), one of the Target employees even told me that a guy came and bought all 4 that time. Darn Scalpers.

So it was worth the trip after trying to obtain one after a month of trying. I was curious afterwards and checked the inventory system the next day. *Gasp* Both Kailua and the Kapolei stores were out of stock. I mean, really? I don't doubt Hawaii has some TF collectors but definitely not the level where both stores of the S and T inventory went out like that. This kinda disappointed me. There is no law preventing anyone from scalping, but unless if I am super desperate for money, I won't lower myself to this level because I know how it feels like to try and get a figure only for some jerk/loser to buy all the stock so they can mark it up on Ebay.

Oh well. I got one but I feel for those who are still struggling to find one. I asked God that day to help me get one. I got it. He allowed me to get it. Prayers work even when getting Transformers.

Batman: Mask of the Phantasm 25th anniversary theatrical re-release quickie!

Movie was viewed on November 12, 2018 in Regal Cinemas Dole Cannery. There were 14 slides of facts and trivia before the movie started. Here are a two slides I putted up plus a shot I took of the movie.

Disclaimer: Batman: Mask of the Phantasm is the property of DC comics/Warner Bros studios. I am only using the above clips or review for entertainment purposes. No profit is intended nor is this site affiliated with DC/Warner bros.

I decided to just view this on the big screen since I never did. A good movie still to this very date. But I'll get to the theater experience right now:

-Suffers the same picture and sound quality like Transformers the movie re-release. Picture is grainy and was probably the dvd release rather then the blu-ray remaster. The sound was very low quality as well. The awe-inspiring church choir parts (the intro, Birth of Batman, Joker's fate, and ending theme) were very underwhelming.

- Not the movie's fault but the theater had only 15 people and it was shown in a very big screen. My Transformers movie showing was in a smaller screen but 85% filled. There are two showings of MOTP in my area: I have a feeling the 7pm showing will be more packed. Probably would had been a better experience.

- Because the movie was shown in 1.85:1 aspect ratio, the matte lines (black bars) on the side were annoying at times. To simply put it, it felt like I was watching full-screen or the theater I was in didn't utilize the entire screen.

There you have it folks. Just a few complaints here and there in an otherwise outstanding film. Later folks and Jesus bless.

Wiliwilinui 2018!

Thank you Gary for this pic
At long last, the sister hikes are finally completed! I tamed Kuliouou and Hawaii Loa last year. Finally the circle is now complete as Wiliwilinui has been thrown into the fray. Let's get started!

*Hike was done on the 6th of November*

Rained the previous day so the hike was pretty muddy and slippery. I hiked with Gary who was visiting from Washington state. I slipped quite a bit on this trail. Lots of stairs 3/4's toward the end. I personally feel there was more stairs on this hike in comparison to the other sister hikes. The trail being muddy, wet, and slippery didn't help either. Some area will have ropes for you to climb up or down.

The summit:

The summit gets smaller and smaller if you go from Kuliouou > Hawaii Loa > Wiliwilinui in that order; bigger vice versa. Sky was pretty overcast so you had to wait a bit for the clouds to clear just to get some nice views. By the time you hit the communications tower the summit is just nearby. Anyhow, thank God I survived that hike. Had pizza at Pieology afterwards. It's actually a pretty long hike overall. Anyhow, take care folks and go with Jesus.
