Transformers Henkei Skyfire/Jetfire C-06 Retrospective Look! Voyager 2008

Henkei Henkei! I couldn't pass up Skyfire when I picked up Henkei Sunstreaker from Edbomber.com which is now known as Toydojo.com. I picked up Henkei Skyfire for $45 when he was going rare at the time. I could remember him being so rare that he went as high as $80 on Ebay.com. Without further delay, lets take a look at him. The pics were taken back in 2012.

 Boxing:

Alt mode:

Arguably one of the easiest Transformers to transform. You can transform him without having to look at the manual. Also this jet form looks a lot closer to his G1 show appearance than his toy appearance. I will discuss this some other time. Right now looking good. As of today, I find myself in the middle of the chrome painted on Skyfire's afterburners. They look great but in the mean time, it also feels out of place. Just another gimmick of Takara making sure that each and every one of their figures have some sort of Chrome added on their bodies. The translucent missiles (which can fire off) are a nice add-on.

Robot mode:

The pics just show you how incredibly awesome he looks. He comes with his robotech like helmet and it is easy to take off anytime you want to give him face time. Starscream also decided to join the fray. If you watched G1, then you would know the relationship between the two. My only real gripe on this figure is that he has trouble standing. His feet, are like, how I describe, u shaped. They don't lay flat so he has trouble standing time to time. In other words, I had trouble making the poses. Besides that I think he looks great in robot mode.

Hasbro vs Henkei:

Sorry but I don't feel like explaining anymore but take a look see and spot the differences. Not so hard on this one though I can tell you straight off that Hasbro does not have Chrome so you already will be able to see one difference at least between the two.

Conclusion:

Had I wrote this article a year ago, I would had told anyone reading this to pick him up. As I write this now, Hasbro and Takara (later on in 2014) released a Leader Class version of Jetfire (Hasbro uses this name though the show called him Skyfire which the Japanese version uses) in Fall 2014. This version is much larger than the voyager class shown here and has even more chrome! Whoa! Not to mention his feet enables him to stand up easier and do more poses. I'm getting off track but Leader Class Jetfire is roughly $40+ so Leader class is the version you want to get unless you are a Jetfire enthusiast, then I suggest you get both. Henkei Skyfire is nevertheless an awesome figure. More on him on the next article. Until then folks.
