This is Hound in the packaging for you. Still a little bummed it no longer comes with anime backdrops. Just the standard blue background now. The box shows his one and only cameo appearance from the movie. (Well, if you count his roadblock scene, it be two but that was probably an error since Sunstreaker was there too). It states he is about to assist Prime into battle. Would had been nice to see that really. First of the figures to showcase the 40th anniversary logo.

What can I say? I like him. His chest is a little on the bigger and wider side. I'll get to this a little more later. He can do an array of poses. He does have all the swivels and ankle tilts which allow him to do some posing with ease. His missile can be removed from his launcher but you can't grapple it or stick it into his Holo gun; It is nice for Hasbro to give us his Holo gun to begin with. One of my TF buddies did mention that his G1 toy came with a machine gun. However, its inclusion is omitted here. I guess we were lucky just to get some of his weapons to begin with. Think EarthRise and SS 86 Sunstreaker. Man that was a bummer in what they did to Sunny boy.

I was a little peeved at first that Hasbro decided to simply release this Hound from the 5 pack initially from few years back. This spelled cheap on their end. I still, to a degree, feel this way but I didn't get the 5 pack because I refused to spend over 100 dollars for him and 4 others that I already got despite the paint differences. Now collectors can finally get this guy at a good price without selling your kidney.

My only real gripe is that I wish Hound was more darker green. It's just that my pictures made him come out more forest green but he is actually a little lighter than that. Besides the chest width, he does have an empty waist back which can be jarring to look at.

I heard that he is a retool of the Siege mode. I have Siege Hound in storage so maybe I'll do a comparison down the line.

This is a fairly easy mode to get to. You can switch the weapons out in either position depending to your liking. I only stuck the missile launcher to the left side cuz that's how the box art depicted it. I kinda hate how his arms stick underneath his belly. But you have enough room for you to roll Hound on the floor without scraping both arms.

This part I said about later

So you can actually merge his Holo gun plus his launcher sans the missile. But thanks to his large chest, you have to kneel or uphold the weapon above his chest in order to have both hands grapple the modified firearm. Would had been nice had I been able to stand and pose with both arms gripping both handles.

Conclusion:

Yeah, its nice Hasbro churned out the guy people were on the fence of getting because it meant you would need to get 4 other figures you already or possibly had. Now, you only need to obtain him. Overall, I do like Hound. Would it been nice to see Hasbro do some kind of updated treatment on this guy? Yeah, it would had been. But I am content with what we got. Anyhow, see you next time folks and turn to Jesus. Mahalos.
