Toy Review: Transformers Takara Tomy Henkei Henkei Hot Rodimus C-05 and United Rodimus Convoy (Prime) UN-23

Rodimus Prime United

Henkei Hot Rod

Box and packaging

Originally,  I wanted an Henkei Hot Rodimus (Hot Rod in the west) to fill in for the Fansproject Protector armor. Funny thing is that I had this figure for quite some time before deciding to let him out of his cage. The version I got here is the re-issue. The roof of the car is lighter red than the rest of the figure. Though I didn't do a photograph, the contents also include a Manga comic. It features Hot Rod squaring off against Megatron but he loses the battle. Eventually, Hot Rod faces off against Astrotrain. Some autobots such as Mirage and Bumblebee appear towards the end. I always liked how Takara did their packaging for the Henkei series. It feels less messy than the U.S. releases.

Alt mode (Guess starring RTS Hot Rod)

You can pretty much see a huge difference on almost everything comparing both figures. The gimmick of Henkei was to incorporate chrome on certain parts of their toy releases. In this case, the Henkei version has Chrome Spoilers and headlights. Not to mention, his flame decos which represent his G1 design are also gold chrome colored. If you look carefully, the rims in the Takara release are silvered painted while the tires are black painted. The RTS version is has dark grey tires and duller grey colored rims. The windows are painted blue in the RTS obscuring the seats and driver wheel. My pics don't do much justice but the driver wheel and seats are visible in this mode for the Henkei version. Looking good and shiny thus far Henkei Hot Rodimus!

Toy Review: Transformers Classics Retrospective look! Transformers Reveal the Shield Battle in Space: Rodimus vs Cyclonus 2 pack (2011)

It's no surprise which "legend" I'm reviewing next but I haven't got to there yet and quite frankly, it will be some time since I have a few Hot Rod or Rodimus figures I have to plow through. For now I will quick-review something shot from the past. Let's get started

Boxing and content

The contents were packaged neatly for this two-pack release, but what made this part stand out imo was the G1 reimagining a few segments of Transformers the movie (1986) in the Rodimus vs Cyclonus comic that was bundled in here.  The comic was made to sell more RTS/Generations figures such as Grapple, Lugnut, Tracks, Rumble and Frenzy (who were eventually canceled in the U.S. release though thank God for Takara releasing them in the United line), and a few others, the comic was a good read. Look it up online, you find more of your answers there.

Toy Review: Transformers Takara Tomy Legends LG-46 Kup (Char) and recoil targetmaster

Hi folks. I guess I'm not out of the woods yet. I didn't want to let what I had keep me down so I'm going to do my best and do the things I like doing without straining myself too much. Any how, I pre-ordered LG-46 and a batch of other figures prior to my sickness. I had no choice but to ship it. Anyways, I wanted to get this Kup because he looks so much identical to his G1 toon part. I had to play with him. Results??? Let's get started!!

Boxing and content:

The comic book if you see in the bottom right hand corner depicts the scene where Rodimus Prime (Convoy), Blurr, and Kup (Char) left Seibertron in the Headmasters series. Kup pretty much settled on planet Micro. You can read the story translation here:

Note: I accidently mis-transformed Recoil in targetmaster mode for the entire shoot.

Alt Mode:

Very identical to his G1 toon pick-up truck look. The colors are fantastic here. No qualms here on entirely though I did have some trouble transforming him back to this truck mode after I transformed him to robot mode. Looking good so far.

Return to Makapu'u Lighthouse trail 8/31/17

Had nothing to do so I decide to head out to Makapu'u with a neighbor of mines. Was nice to do a brisk walk since I'm still recovering but that is in the Lord's hands.

Thank you Lord Jesus for a good and nice hike. I wish I could had brought my dog. We ate at Koko Marina after the hike, Greek Marina to be exact. Let the pics do the talking. Have a nice day folks.

Toy Review: Takara Tomy Transformers Legends Scourge LG-26

Hiya folks, welcome to another edition of TF reviews by yours truly. Today we have Scourge the tracker and his henchman: Generations and United Scourge. Oh, and how can we forget his leader, Galvatron. Without delay, let's get started!

Box and contents:

I forgot to take a picture of the comic scans. This is your artwork and box art. Standard Takara Tomy Legends release.

Anyhow, anybody interested in the comic storyline can click here:

Alt mode:

This release of Scourge is a good homage to the G1 series. The United/Generation releases showcased Scourge as a B-52 bomber while this release is an updated G1 look for him. You can stick his headmaster head to give him the gimmick of his head sticking out while flying, something he did a lot in the animated series. Easy to transform from robot mode to this mode as well. A very neat representation of his Alt mode from his G1 days.
