Transformers Studio Series The The Movie Kranix Review
![]() |
Aloha folks, I am back with the last survivor of Lithone, Kranix. Kranix is also the last of this wave released, and surprisingly, I did get them all. How does he fare? Let's get started!
Boxing

The box states how Kranix meets Hot Rod and Kup. And rightfully so. When I opened the package, his gun already popped out. I heard a couple folks had this issue too.
Alt mode (Skeleton)
This mode always intrigued me when I first saw it online so I immediately had to dive into it. I also called it skeleton, like the sport, because it feels like he is diving face first. Looks like a glide mode with a beak to be honest. Easy mode to get to for the most part. I do believe this was Hasbro's intention for him to transform into a vehicle mode in the movie but it was cut out last minute.
Robot mode
Kranix can actually do an array of poses. His joints are very tight. Sometimes a little too much. But use your imagination. He looks and plays like a simple figure. He didn't have a gun in the flick but it was nice they gave him one here. I just wished his wrist could swivel. It's the only real swivel he is lacking. The only real negative thing here for me is that both of his feets can cause him to stumble. His front toe on each leg is longer than the rest so it causes an imbalance at times. But otherwise, he is still a pretty fun figure and nicely and simply done once again. Brownie points as well due to the fact he is one the few new figures in this wave that is actually something else and not a repack, repaint, or retool. Astrotrain was another story.
This wave gang is all here
That is that. I ended up getting the filler wave. Kranix is the most unique figure of this wave imo. The rest were just as I mentioned rehashes. Astroboy yeah, lets not go there again. So Kranix doesn't have a designated spot to hold his blaster besides his fists. You have to lower his back panel as if you were prepping for his alt mode in order to store it.
Conclusion
Very simple figure as I mentioned numerous times. Definitely must for completionists. He plays fine overall for anyone who decides to pick him up. I'm pretty sure Arblus will be released down the line and will a have a retooled head. Until then. Jesus loves you.
