Transformers Studio Series The The Movie Skywarp review (comparisons to SS Thundercracker, ER Skywarp, and DCS Skywarp)

Aloha folks, today I present to you Studio Series Skywarp. A repaint of SS Thundercracker. How does he fare? Let's get started.

Boxing

Here is your box. You can see his wing accessories are in a package hanging on literally (1st pic). The funny thing is his description describes him preparing for his final battle, but it shows the scene where he is about to be tossed off Astrotrain with a few others. The side of the box which states 40th actually shows the interior of Astrotrain. Kinda dig it.

So here he is. Just a purple/black repaint of SS Thundercracker. He does have a different face expression to not make it a total rehash of TC. He pretty much plays the same as TC as I'd mentioned in his review. Got the same swivels: Wrist, waist and head. However, His elbow joints are a bit more tighter in comparison to TC. My TC copy was very loose. His feet also stays in when I play with it. My copy for TC would often pop off as I fidget with it. Otherwise, pretty good paint job. I noticed some folks complained his shoulders should be purple and this doesn't bother me too much. But it would had been nice had they included it.

So take your pic. We've come this far. You can see they are all different shades of purple. I think 86 is fairly accurate. Once again I think 86 is the best overall though I still like the modern upgrade look from ER/DCS. You can actually apply the removable wings and place them on the ER/DCS version.

I really don't have any personal favorites when they get into alt mode. They feel almost the same and play almost alike. The only real difference is that empty underbelly for the SS and the SS versions have a landing wheel. Pretty easy to transform if you already knew how to transform TC. 

Conclusion

If you like TC then you owe it yourself to get SW. Like I said he plays like TC so if you had no problems, then SW works well here. Skywarp does have better joints so its good in that category. You also want to get him since Starscream is coming out soon to complete the trio. Here is your classic Skywarp. Jesus loves you. Take care.
