Transformers Generations Legends Cosmos with Payload!

Finally got around to shooting more figures.I had been busy with work this whole time. I decided next on my hit/shoot list was the minibots Cosmos, Swerve, and Tailgate. I picked up Cosmos and Swerve a while back and was on the fence with Tailgate till I decided to pick the latter up because he was G1 after all. Cosmos is the focus for this article and I will do Swerve and Tailgate shortly. Forgive me but a lot of dust accumulated on the set during this shoot. Without further delay, Let's get started!

Packaging on all 3:

Tailgate, Swerve, and Cosmos

Tailgate's package came damaged so I think twice to buy TF figures from Amazon again.

Cosmos Packaging:

Funny thing is that Cosmos comes packaged in robot mode while his partner Payload comes in vehicle mode.

Cosmos Robot mode:

Nice representation of the G1 character though he was much more chubbier in the cartoons. I guess he finally learned to slim down. Payload, who I have no idea who his character is can turn into a weapon for Cosmos to use. Very easy to transform.

Cosmos Alt mode:

What would had made this part great was that if I had a toy stand to mimic him flying. The UFO saucer mode looks great. You can stick his head out of this mode just like Scourge and the Sweeps . The only thing about this was that I had difficulty transforming him until I looked at the manual. Believe it or not, Cosmos isn't an easy transform, or at least not for me that was. Little did I know you could twist his body in order to transform him fully. Hey, but I guess that is what manuals are for. Last but not least, I didn't find out till very later on that you interlock Payloads exhaust onto Cosmos cannons. Neat. You will see this on every legends figure where they can attach their weapons during Alt mode.

Payload Alt Mode:

What I could say about Payload is that his figure closely resemble the actual G1 figures that barely pose but merely raise only there arms. His feet are even stuck together. Upon lifting his belly up (2nd pic), this already looks like his robot mode. But you will see what is the small difference in robot mode.

Payload Robot mode:

Did you find the difference???? You just lift his wing upThat is it folks.

Payload weapon mode:

In weapon mode, all you do is lift his arms up and push his feet up to his torso and then release the handle so Cosmos can have a firm grip on it. Really simple. Payload really feels like a homage to the G1 figures. Very simple, less articulate, but still fun. If you look at this deeper, Payload is actually a triple changer: Robot mode, Alt mode, and gun.

Conclusion:

Well, originally the universe line had a less articulate and smaller Cosmos. Later on, Third party Igear toys released their deluxe version of Cosmos known as UFO. I had the latter but then sold it upon hearing about Generations Cosmos release which is roughly $20 cheaper than Igear toys and loads of fun to play as. I don't have much to say except that Cosmos and Payload are the definitive versions to get for your classics line. Very easy to play with though you may some difficulty transforming Cosmos to his UFO mode in the beginning. Worth the $10. Next up... Swerve!
