Toy Review! Transformers Classics: Universe Smokescreen

Image
At long last, I finally decide to let Smokescreen out of his cage...after 8 years to be exact! Without further delay, let's get started! Boxing Taken at 2010. Lol! Creased at upper right.   Well, I was cleaning my room and found that the box was creased. I decided why not let him out already? Comes with an instruction manual. Was pretty cool for its time. Alt mode guest starring Universe Prowl and Henkei Streak (Silverstreak or Bluestreak)       How I went about on getting Universe Smokescreen was that I prefered his dark blue colors over the light blue the Henkei version had. Plus Universe Smokescreen was only $10 at the time. However, the Henkei version is more consistent on his paint scheme and more G1 anime accurate. The Universe one is just colors everywhere it feels. It's the same mold as Universe Prowl and Henkei Streak so hope you enjoy the comparisons. For an odd reason, I had trouble pu...

Toy Review: Transformers Takara Tomy LaserBeak (Condor) and Apeface LG38.

Happy New Year folks. Got out of my sick bed to review a figure. Today's focus is on one of Soundwave's minion: Laserbeak aka Condor in Japan and his partner in crime: Apeface. Without haste, let's get started! Boxing and contents         Standard legends boxing. Comes with the comic book version from which I have no idea what's it about until I read this site:  http://tfwiki.net/wiki/Legends_Comic:_Bonus_Edition_Vol._38 Robot Mode     With Legs With legs 2 Red wings 1 Red wings 2 Better view of his face Laserbeak is a beauty. Though I wouldn't find him a masterpiece of his G1 incarnation. He looks great here. I had trouble getting a decent shot of his face until I was able to do so on the last pic for this category. For once I used mainly flash and the flash obscured his legs due to the black flooring I used. He also had some red wings which I didn't shoo...

Toy Review: Transformers Takara Tomy Legends LG-45 Hot Rod(Hot Rodimus) and Firebolt targetmaster.

More Hot Rod madness! Well, it ends here for now. This is the final Hot Rod review until I can get a Power of the Primes Rodimus Prime figure. Today in is Legends Hot Rod. I don't know what drove me to get this figure since I have so much Hot Rod/Rodimus figures but here is Legends Roddy nonetheless! Above pics is the usual box art and comic book that comes with it. I don't know much about the comic though it also takes place after Hot Rod left Cybertron in the Headmaster series.  Here is the link to the official synopsis. http://tfwiki.net/wiki/Legends_Comic:_Bonus_Edition_Vol._45 Blunder warning: I transformed Firebolt's gun mode wrong as well Hot Rod's chest piece in robot mode for the entire review. Don't say you weren't warned.

Toy Review: Fansproject TFX-04 Protector and Sidearm aka Rodimus Prime.

Image
More Hot Rod/Rodimus Prime madness! Today we have the classic TFX-04 protector. Most of these shots were done back in 2011 I believe. The shots with Toyhax backdrop were done recently. Without haste, let's get started! Boxing and contents.         So for those who are new to this, the is Fansprojects upgrade of Classics Hot Rod to Rodimus Prime also known as autobot protector. Classics Hot Rod was often blasted for being too small so Fansproject stepped in handled consumer complaints. Because this is also third party, his targetmaster Firebolt is renamed Sidearm due to trademark reasons of course.

Toy Review: Transformers Takara Tomy Henkei Henkei Hot Rodimus C-05 and United Rodimus Convoy (Prime) UN-23

Henkei Hot Rod Box and packaging     Originally,  I wanted an Henkei Hot Rodimus (Hot Rod in the west) to fill in for the Fansproject Protector armor. Funny thing is that I had this figure for quite some time before deciding to let him out of his cage. The version I got here is the re-issue. The roof of the car is lighter red than the rest of the figure. Though I didn't do a photograph, the contents also include a Manga comic. It features Hot Rod squaring off against Megatron but he loses the battle. Eventually, Hot Rod faces off against Astrotrain. Some autobots such as Mirage and Bumblebee appear towards the end. I always liked how Takara did their packaging for the Henkei series. It feels less messy than the U.S. releases.  Alt mode (Guess starring RTS Hot Rod)         You can pretty much see a huge difference on almost everything comparing both figures. The gimmick of Henkei was...
