Have I not commanded thee? Be strong and of good courage; be not afraid, neither be thou dismayed: for the lord thy God is with thee withersoever thou goest. Joshua 1:9

Aloha folks I am back with Ages of the Primes Swerve. Pretty much my 2nd AOTP figure so without further delay, let's get started.

I used AOTP Powerglide (next review) to showcase half of the 13 Primes panoramic display. I'll admit the box art does look nice.

Swerve with Legacy Gears

Swerving with us here today is Legacy Gears, whom Swerve is a slight retool of. They nearly play identical, got the waist, wrist, and head swivel. Though Swerve has his head guard on both sides of his head which renders his head turning a little tougher than Gears. Besides the paint difference and some sculpt properties, Swerve has fake wheels on his shoulders which I will get into later for alt mode. Swerve's chest is also thicker and sticks out more than Gears. That also makes Swerve a little pudgier than Gears which can restrict some posing that Gears could more readily. Swerve has the same looking circuit chest Gears have when you flip the chest panel up. Sadly, I forgot to do a shoot on this, but its there.  Another notable difference is Swerve's hind legs now sports the wheels which forms the back portion of his alt mode; Gears back wheels come from his chest area. Because of this Swerve loses the 5mm port to house a weapon which you will evidently see in alt mode.  I still prefer Gears but Swerve is a good re-use of the mold. Love the colors here. Both of them also use the same weapon so no difference there. Swerve plays just fine like how Gears did. Oh, I transformed Gears and Swerve a little wrong. You can see the wheels sticking out of their back when it should be folded in.

Done right

So you can see the wheels now inserted into his back.

Pretty much the same transformation as Gears. Almost same weapon placement but like I said earlier, Swerve loses the 5mm port in the back area of the car (2nd pic in this category). You can also see that his fake wheels on his shoulder forms the under belly portion. Because of Swerve's now thick chest area, his chest does not fully open to create a ramp like effect like how Gears could.

Conclusion

I don't know the character too well except that he was trampled on by Trypticon if my memory swerves me correctly. I remember getting a Generations version of him (locked up somewhere in my house) which I guess we can all say now that this AOTP version is the more definitive version of the character or closer to G1 accurate. I don't have much to say but if you loved the Gears character, then you would love Swerve. Anyhow, thank you and Jesus loves you. Next up AOTP Powerglide!
