Transformers Toys Studio Series Deluxe The The Movie 86-29 Bumblebee Review
Aloha, folks I am back with a Studio Series review and it is none other than Studio Series 86 Bumblebee. How does he fare? Let's get started.
Boxing

I kinda missed having backdrops which the newer releases tend to eschew. His backdrop portrays the insides of Unicron.
Bumblebee
One of the survivors of the original 1984-85 line that made it into the 3rd season and eventually being modified to Goldbug. Here is another iteration of Bumblebee. I say this because it wasn't too long before his Netflix version was released. However, that version had a more mustard orange look to him. This BB looks more yellow to his toon model. To make matters a little better, he is not a partsformer like the NF version was; his back was detachable but this one its a plain square like model. It looks a little too plain looking unfortunately. Speaking of squares, this BB feels squarish. He is a little too squarish for my taste. Especially that chest of his. Its stretched out a little too far imo.
But his Autobot insignia is in the right place this time. This Bee can still do an array of poses. He does have waist, wrist, and head swivel to your posing pleasure. He also has an ankle tilt, doesn't look like it but he does and it works wonders when you are doing some poses. Pistol is stored in his back for this mode. He is a simple figure to toy around with.
Volkswagon mode
Something about that plain back that just bugs me. It doesn't feel right in this mode especially. However, here he is and he is a pretty easy transformation to alt mode and back. There are some light yellow spots by the window area which can be a bummer if you are a perfectionist. You can really see the inconsistency of paint in this mode. His back forms his bumper so that is where the gun goes once again. You can put his gun underneath near his back area and utilize it as a exhaust pipe but this causes the wheels to be lifted off the ground.
Conclusion:
Not sure if its some kind of fatigue or overstock. BB is still available in most stores and being discounted at the moment I am writing this. I purchased Bee upon release but didn't release him out of his plastic prison till now and yet he is available to purchase in most online retailers. It was inevitable that Bee was going to get an 86 release but prior to that there were too many incarnations of him that I felt collectors got sick and tired of getting another iteration of him. He is here to complete your 86 line. He's not perfect but definitely not terrible. He does have that huge square chest and a plain looking back but he is simple, passable and a must have for Bee fans. If you still need one, I say get him while he is cheap now. He is no longer the 25 dollar price but somewhere under 20. That is worth it. Once again, thank you Jesus for another day in Hawaii-Nei. Laters.
