Spider-man: Far from Home Re-release 5/27/24

20240530-082128

Caught this with my best bud. Though its far from perfect, Far From Home does a good job in revamping the Mysterio character into a more serious role. Got a free poster this time again. Not sure why certain films were lacking in those aspects. Anyhow, lets finish the re-releases with No Way Home next week.

Spider-man Homecoming back in theaters 5/20/24

Caught this with my nephew this past Monday. They did not give us posters this time though the turnout was great imo.

This MCU is quite entertaining though they messed up some characters like Flash and MJ. Anyways, Far from Home hits next week!

Below is the link on how the poster should had looked had they distributed in my area.

Transformers 40th Anniversary Event May 19, 2024

Caught the Sunday screening of the Transformers 40th Anniversary screening. This was not the screening of the 86 movie but the first 4 episodes which includes More than meets the Eye 1-3 and Transport to Oblivion. The real bonus was that the first episode was re-dubbed by new and old veterans. Frank Todaro did a really good job as Starscream filling in the for the late Chris Latta. Prior to the screening, there were toy ads and previews for the upcoming Transformers one film. There was also outtakes of the redubs after episode 1.

From Episode 2 and beyond, it was just the original aired episodes. The screening goes downhill after the outtakes. It just felt like filler at this point. They should had just ended imo after More than meets the eye episode 3.

When the episodes end, there is a PSA with Bumblebee and a "In Memoriam" quickie with now deceased voice actors. Then the auditorium just lits up. This was found to be very irksome by the TF community. No final words but just a remembrance quickie and that is it, the show is over.

It is what it is. This was pretty much for true fans or people who really grew up with TF. Even then, it was kinda of disappointing. I really wished they redub all 4 episodes. Not only that but at least have some kinda of thank you letter towards the end.  At least that would had made it a little worthwhile. Well, see you next with Spider-man Homecoming re-release.

River City Girls quickie review.

Initially this game got on my nerves, but as usual, I try to play it through and then I managed to beat the game and learn some of the tricks. I can't pull off those amazing infinite juggles the pros can do but I learned enough moves to defeat the opposition. This game caught my eye simply because there are references to Double Dragon. Some characters make cameos in here. One of them is actually a boss!

I am aware that this game is a tribute to River City Ransom of old school NES fame. However, I don't recollect on the time I played it on the NES. I haven't played the hard mode or found the secret shop but I have completed the game 100%. Well, this game is fun though it grinded my gears a bit in comparison to Double Dragon: Rise of the Dragons which is produced by the same company. The game is also a little repetitive as well. Anyhow see you next time.

The Amazing Spider-man 2 re-release in theaters 5/13/24

I missed out on the the first TASM due to family dinner. But I managed to catch # 2 this time around.

20240514-105833

It was a nice turnout I say. The screen was half filled and my nephew, whom I brought, seem to had enjoyed it. Tom Holland's Spider-man MCU films hit the screen next!

Spider-man 3 (2007) re-release in theaters 4/29

 20240429-181114 Screenshot-20240501-081904-Gallery

Saw this on a nearly packed screen. There was only one showing so maybe that's why everyone was crammed into one screen. Well, the Raimi trilogy concludes. This film is an example on what happens when the studios interfere. If only the studios allowed Raimi to do what he wanted or perhaps release a directors cut in the future, maybe Spider-man 3 wouldn't be chastised the way it was when it was first released.

Lots of people in the auditorium seemed to enjoyed this flick due to nostalgic reasons but also this was where the Bully Maguire theme first emerged. Try guess which scenes were the people laughing at? Anyhow, got a free poster and the movie even got an applause after which shocked me. Anyhow, Spider-Monday continues next week with The Amazing Spider-man

Spider-man 2: 2024 returns to theaters for one day 4/22/24

Caught Spider-Man 2 (2004) re-release. Arguably one of the best comic book superhero sequel films made.

20240422-132733 20240422-135054

Came with a free poster so that was neat. While it was nice to see this on the big screen again it didn't wow me with nostalgia like the first film. Alright, well, lets finish the original trilogy next week with Spider-man 3.

Bring back the time - for the first time!

It's 2024 and I'm hearing this for the first time! Made back in 2022 but wow, this song really has an 80's vibe to it and its very catchy. Yeah, bring back the times! Featuring New Kids on the Block, Salt-N-Pepa, Rick Astley and En Vogue. Try to name all the references. There's a video that does that but I won't posted it here.

Spider-man 2002 returns to theaters for one day

 https://www.cinemark.com/movies/spider-man-2002-sony-100

Just came back from a re-watch of the original Spider-man film from Sam Raimi. Basically, every week Monday a Spider-man film will play until it reaches No Way Home.

As for the film, it was a little grainy in some spots but it was nice to see the original Raimi flick back on the big screen again. By far one of the most comic book like movies that had that comic book feel back then and today it still holds up. Spider-man 2 hits next week!

Double Dragon: Rise of the Dragons quick review

So this is the new game that is keeping me occupied at the moment. As I write this I already got all the achievements, unlockables, and even the latest DLC. The game is pretty fun overall and replaying the stages (in different order) and fighting the final boss has its satisfactory moments. Yes, I actually managed to beat the final ( and I mean) final boss with 1CC by implementing a cheap maneuver with Ranzou the ninja who is part of the last DLC. IMO, the two characters that is already unlocked from the start to help you beat the game is none other than Billy Lee and Marian. All you need is the mine special with Marian and Billy is just all around. His Soaring Dragon really works wonders toward the end.

Well, I'm just waiting for 86 Swoop and Legacy Gears. Until then. Rise up!

Transformers Toys Studio Series Core Class The The Movie Decepticon Frenzy (Red)

 Frenzy15

Aloha folks, today I am back with another review: Core Class Studio series 86 Frenzy! Yeah, the red dude. Without delay, let's get started!

Boxing

Frenzy01 Frenzy02 Frenzy03 Frenzy04 Frenzy05 Frenzy06

The box is pretty much the same as 86 Rumble. Only difference really is the color palette swap of the figure and portraits. The backdrop is the same as 86 Rumble as well.

Frenzy ( and comparisons with Rumble)

Frenzy07 Frenzy08 Frenzy09 Frenzy10 Frenzy11 Frenzy12 Frenzy13 Frenzy14 Frenzy15 Frenzy16 Frenzy17 Frenzy18 Frenzy19

If you played with Rumble, Frenzy is no different. The piledrivers and gun handling/storage applies the same here. I do like Frenzy's coloring better than Rumbles. So if I had to choose one of them, it most likely be Frenzy. Frenzy has the same colored gun as well and you can pretty much swap piledrivers with each other. Like Rumble, I wish Frenzy had elbow joints. I felt that its really needed here.

Alt mode

Frenzy20 Frenzy21 Frenzy22 Frenzy23 Frenzy24 Frenzy25 Frenzy26 Frenzy27

To no one's surprise, same transformation as Rumble and fits into Soundwave's chest cavity a slight tight fit like Rumble.

Conclusion

Yeah, this review was short. Despite color differences, this guy is pretty much an identical figure to Rumble. No real contrast here. I do like Frenzy's color better however. If you liked Rumble, then you will like Frenzy. Or if you need to fulfill your Soundwave minion collection. The only bummer like his piledriver brethren is the lack of elbow joints. Anyhow, see you next time and Jesus loves you.

Transformers Buzzworthy Bumblebee Studio Series 86 13 Cliffjumper Deluxe review

BWCJ11

Aloha folks, I am back after a small Christmas break. This time I got Buzzworthy Bumblebee Cliffjumper 86 on review. In the review, there will be comparison shots with his Earthrise counterpart plus scale placement alongside 86 Jazz. Do I prefer this guy better or is the ER version the better one all around? Let's find out and lets get started!

Boxing and contents

BWCJ01 BWCJ02 BWCJ03 BWCJ04 BWCJ05 BWCJ06

This is the first of my Buzzworthy BB (and only one so far) that I picked up from Amazon.com. He was a very difficult figure to obtain initially as a Target exclusive. All of a sudden, this guy starts appearing in discount stores all over the mainland USA. Now he appears in Amazon.com for the same $23 retail price. I figure why not. Box looks gratifying. Love his side panel artworks where CJ is springing into battle and the opposite end looks like something of a 3-d comic. I won't name the robots but I think you can figure them out if you are a G1 fan. The backdrop included is pretty much the same as Jazz's one from the 86 line. What would had been great is if we got a new backdrop in the scene where Jazz and CJ was heading to their ships amid the vacuumed debris caused by Unicron. The back of the box describes how CJ is attempting to escape Moonbase 1. Would had fit that scene nicely. Also, its neat to have the plastic that once housed most figures before the lack-of-plastic boxes emerged. Then again, the figure is roughly about 1-2 years old now. Thanks to the the lack of distribution this supply once endured is finally now making its way out to the public on a bigger scale.

Standing tall ( with ER CJ and 86 Jazz).

BWCJ07 BWCJ08 BWCJ09 BWCJ10 BWCJ11 BWCJ12 BWCJ13 BWCJ14 BWCJ15 BWCJ16 BWCJ17 BWCJ18 BWCJ19 BWCJ20 BWCJ21

This is pretty much the same figure as the ER one. The main differences are BWB CJ comes in his actual G1 toon colors. The red is much lighter in this one and his gun is more of a turquoise color. Also, the blacks on the guns are a bit lighter than the ER version. Last but not least, BWB CJ has his Autobot insignia on his front chest; he also has one on his left foot. Figure wise, they function and play alike though.  No loose issues on this guy. If I had to pick one, I do prefer how BWB CJ looks. I do like the paint apps and the greys especially over the blacks on the ER version. The latter just had too much black colors.

Alt modes and comparisons.

BWCJ22 BWCJ23 BWCJ24 BWCJ25 BWCJ26 BWCJ27 BWCJ28 BWCJ29 BWCJ30 BWCJ31 BWCJ32 BWCJ33 BWCJ34 BWCJ35

Same old transformation as the ER version. Plays identical and looks the same but just different paint applications on certain areas again. On this one, I personally felt and wished that Hasbro went the extra mile and made BWB CJ a buggie like how he was supposed to be in the actual G1 movie. The paint colors look great in his robot mode, but I'm just not feeling this one in alt mode. I feel the darker red works a little better for the ER version.  Then you got a mix bag on both versions when it comes to their back bumpers. They are both painted in different areas. Would had been nice to see the BWB version have it entirely painted.

Conclusion:

BWB CJ for the win especially in robot mode. That is how CJ should look. However, as I stated earlier that he should had been a buggie for his alt mode. For me, I display most of my figures in robot mode so I say BWB is the way to go. No real difference otherwise besides cosmetics. At this point, if you are deliberating on who to choose, its really comes down to if you prefer G1 colors or the ER version colors. To make things a little easier, its probably best to go with BWB because he is cheaper at the time this review is being written. Take care folks. Jesus loves you.
