Thank God for a good day in Seattle Aug 19, 2018 Day 5 of 7 Museums and Marvel madness! (Pics heavy!)

Ventured into Seattle city on my own for this day. Actually, God was with me so I wasn't alone. He kept me safe. Let's get started!

Parked close to Space Needle area and yet I walked all the way to, close to, International district to take some shots. I didn't go up but man there was loads of Los Angeles Dodger fans attending the Dodger vs Mariners game. Maybe next time I will go up to explore the observatory.

Recommended by Tram. Thanks, it was nice. Mostly indigenous arts but I grew up studying native arts. I really loved the native take on the Storm trooper. The rat statue was awesome as well.

Pike Place and lunch!

 

 

 

 

As you can see, the weather was starting to fog up again. Should had been beautiful skies but we got what we got. I walked around Pike place a bit before settling for lunch at 5 point cafe which is a distance from Pike's but very close to the Space Needle. Good pot roast btw!

Day with Nick, a former Straubie who moved up here now. We went to Ooink for Ramen. Good noodles and we had Salt and Straw afterwards which Seattle apparently has now. I worked out earlier during the day so my shins were hurting. Thank God Nick's apt was close by so we hung around his place, met his dog, and walked around his block for a block party.

Not the actual Kent family from DC comics, but I met up with Tram, Che and their two kids from Kent, WA. We then invited Heath once again with his family to eat at Himalayan Cafe in Renton area. Good food! That was it for the night. Thank you folks for coming out and making this day awesome! Thank you for tuning in and see you for the next day.

Thank God for a good day in Seattle Aug 17, 2018 Day 3 of 7 Bruce Lee tribute!

 Thank Jesus that hurricane Lane faded away. Thank you Jesus once again!


Day 3 didn't start till noonish since my buddy Kevin was coming from Tri-cities.

 

Good but pricey dim sum. Very popular here in Seattle. Three locations but we went to the one in Bellevue.

Lots of people were here to pay their respects for the legend. Jesse Glover and Edward Hart were Bruce's students and they were buried very close to him; on the right hand side about 20 feet away. I haven't been here for 10 years and it it was nice to see Bruce and his son again. *His grave is in the middle of the cemetery. A easy way to find it is once you enter the front gates, look towards the middle of the cemetery, you will see a white heart shaped grave hundreds of feet away from you. There will be some bushes behind this grave. You will find Bruce Lee right behind. I figure I share this info as well about the white grave marker. It's one of the most beautiful grave markers in the whole cemetery. It belongs to woman of Chinese descent who died back in 2007. She was 44. So young, pretty and sad at the same time. Anyhow, good luck.*

*Update 5/9/21* I decided to find out who this woman was. Using the advanced search feature and remembering that this woman passed away in 2007. I found her on Findagrave.com

I mean no disrespect to any of the family members. I'm just honoring her memory. Her grave is literally in front of Bruce Lee's (that bush behind her grave is Bruce and his son, Brandon). Somebody did write a piece about Vikki in 2018. I too just share the sentiment of this forgotten, beautiful marker. Anyhow, rest well Vikki. God you were beautiful and I can't emphasize that enough. Sometimes life just isn't fair. You, Bruce and Brandon died so young.

Thank God for a good day in Seattle Aug 16, 2018 Day 2 of 7 Return to Museum of Flight!

Hola! Day 2 in Seattle 2018 commence!

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Today I meet my buddy Heath and his son Liam from Everett. Was a long drive and it took us a while to get here. Not only that but Heath was pressed for time so our return to The Museum of Flight was a quick one. We had a good time still. Liam was really intrigued by the place that he didn't have enough time to read everything. Smart kid, he's a cool cat. I finally went to the hangar section and got to see all the big commercial airplanes especially the 787. You get to walk inside most of the large planes which was a plus. It was also a nice addition to see the Air Force One jet.

Haven't been here in 10 years of all my return trips to Seattle. It was nice to see additions to the MOF. Caught up with Heath's wife Cora and had dinner back at Lynnwood area. See you next day, Ciao!
