Season 1 Ark Autobots complete! At long last, the missing puzzle is found and that is Rocke- Not Gears. Without further delay, let's get started!
Boxing
The box art also features not- Swerve or Spiale. The box art makes it look as if he comes with Rocke but he doesn't. To make sure you get the right figure, you look at the bottom of the box and if the white box is check next to the corresponding color, then you got that figure. In this case, blue = Rocke and red = Spiale. Rocke also comes with a blue bomber. Not Megaman but I decide to call him that for this review.
Standing tall
In the robot flesh. Rocke looks like his G1 incarnation. The colors and looks are really impressive. However, he feels blocky for the most part and despite having a head swivel, his shoulder arms get in the way from time to time. His hands are connected to his forearm despite having elbows to give him some posability. He ends up getting dual pistols, one from what I heard is supposed to be Spiales, but you get both. The weapons on my figure though does not peg in completely. Bummer.
The blue bomber
The blue bomber or whatever he is called is a neat little figure. No joke. I had more fun playing this guy. I like his design and he comes with some detachable shoulder cannons. He also can do some sort of mini-transformation. His chest cavity opens up and you can probably put some mini-human inside. I just stuck Rocke's gun in there instead. As for whatever he transforms into, I really don't know. You get to fold his arms backwards and bend his legs. His butt area can be lifted up to his back. I just fidget with him on this part. I really don't know what he is supposed to transform into. When it comes to the instructions- no bueno on this guy.
Alt mode
Very easy to transform into. However into the fold the legs completely, you need to stretch his torso in order to do so. Not sure what I mean? See the next category.
Sizing them up.
Look at the 2nd pic. That is how. So my minibot line up is out of scale I guess. I don't mind it though. This is your scale depending which lines you own.
Conclusion:
Well, Hasbro only released Gears once and I had trouble finding him. His official figure now pays a premium so $26 bucks for Rocke and his blue bomber buddy was not a bad deal. The messed up part is that I had more fun with his blue buddy instead of Gears himself. Still I'm glad to finally complete the season 1 Ark Autobots with Rocke not-Gears. I guess for a third party figure, you can't complain too much. He got the looks but if you are expecting something masterpiece-like, look elsewhere. Overall, he is here to complete your G1 lineup.
