Transformers War for Cybertron Siege S21 Iron-Hide review

Greetings folks. It's been a while since my last TF review. I was at one point doing reviews like mad, but thanks to work and this game named Marvel: Ultimate Alliance 3 The Black order, reviews have been halted from time to time. Thankfully, I decided to put my game down and finish up this photo shoot and review I had planned for nearly a month. Without delay here is Siege Iron-hide.

Packaging

Standard WFC box. Now let's free him out of his plastic prison.

Standing tall

Iron-Hide looks awesome! Not to mention, Hastak gave him deeper red which the classics ( well, the Hasbro version) figure was lacking. He is armed with canon blaster which can be utilized as a hammer. He looks good and poses great so far. His battle damage, which is the staple of the Siege line, is mainly seen on both of his feet.

Alt mode:

His Cybertron vehicle is a far cry from his Earth-van mode. This mode is fairly easy to transform to. You can stick his canon weapon on any of the pegs.

Vs Classics Iron-hide

Well, for the longest time we had Universe Iron-hide as the stand-in for the classics line-up. As you can see from the pics, Universe IH hasn't aged well. I had trouble transforming him in his SUV vehicle mode. The jig-saw like areas were difficult to peg in. As a result, the comparisons look awful. I wonder if this was a sign of age and tearing. The funny thing is that I hardly played with him and Ratchet and both figures are already falling apart. Both of their weapons has lost their spring as well.

Back to visuals, I personally feel Universe Iron-hide has the G1 looking chest while Siege has the Spartan like head from the show. Both can't use each other's weapons so their are unique in that aspect. If you had to get one, it's got to be Siege Ironhide. The classics Iron-hide wasn't perfect then but it was all we had that resembled G1 for a long time. Quite frankly, it was kinda of a mess then and it is more so now. Thank God the Siege line showed we can rectify this by putting out a better model.

Conclusion:

The Siege line doesn't disappoint so far. The only drawback like always is the battle damage. Had it not been for that, the Siege line would had been the perfect updated G1 Classics Transformers. Iron-hide is no exception. Iron-hide is an amazing add on to your collection. If you need a G1 classics non masterpiece Iron-hide, look at the Siege line. Bye bye for now.

Quick update:

Right way of transformation thanks to a TFmember from the TFW2005.

The Grey bulge in his stomach should be placed more in and his windshield sticking more out. I shot it wrong for most of the shoot but when I went to correct this I realized it was already in the bulge-in and windshield-out phase. Weird.
