Power of the Primes Leader Class Optimus Prime review

Aloha, today is a catch up review with none other than Power to the Primes leader class: Optimus Prime! Without delay let's get started.

Boxing:

Comes with a Matrix, whose core is removable and the empty spot can be housed with other Prime cores. Maybe I will show this feature down the line but I really didn't care for the Prime master gimmick as I stated in my previous reviews. As you can see in the box, he comes with Orion Pax. But where is he? Continue on my friends.

Are those legs?

Wow, I was actually amazed when I took this guy out of the box because he is huge and the details are pretty awesome! He almost looks like a masterpiece figure. The only drawback is that if we are going for cartoon accuracy, his hands are grey instead of blue. He has legs sticking out for his back which gives you a hint where Orion Pax is stored. Anyhow, he feels and looks stunning in this mode. Oh, and try not to worry about that gum like structure in the background. It was, well, there to begin with.

Jazz!

Long story cut short: Orion Pax was the former identity of the now Autobot leader Optimus Prime. Orion Pax comes out of the back of the bigger Optimus shell. He is pretty much a deluxe figure and and I forgot to mentioned previously that Prime's rifle can split in two. Nice gimmick. Feels a little loose but you are getting two figures for one in a sense. His back is weird because it's Prime's chest. So don't go posing with their backs. Can't complain too much otherwise.

Alt mode:

In case if you haven't figured it out, Orion Pax becomes the cab while his Prime shell transforms into the trailer. It looks very medicore at best. I'm pretty sure Hasbro did their best. And the random figures I used can grasp Prime's weapon fairly well. The trailer doesn't lock in well to the cab as well so don't get too excited on this mode.

Yep, so you can see how Optimus Prime is a behemoth in comparison to his colleagues. Still, OP looks great you can't deny that.

Note: I forgot to transform Prime's smokestacks in this category. My bad.

Conclusion:

A must get if you need a classics Prime and that you won't care about using his back for posing or his alt mode. Many people complain he is too big and I concur. But aesthetically he looks very easy on the eyes. Nice additional feature which is Orion Pax. Anyhow, I love his Optimus Prime robot mode lots. Maybe in the future, I will do a Prime comparison between some of the OP molds I have. Until then.
