Transformers War for Cybertron Siege S36 Refraktor aka Reflector review

Aloha, we are coming in a rapid paces of reviews. Today's review is Refraktor (aka Reflector). Without haste, let's get started.

As you can see I have not one but three Refraktors. If you are the G1 TF purist, then you know why I got three. The hint is even given in the back of their boxes. If not, keep reading and you will see eventually.

Robot mode:

So it looks like these guys came off the assembly line. Then again this was their G1 cartoon look. Had you bought the original G1 toy, they had individual names: Viewfinder, Spectro, and Spyglass. They probably went by those names in the cartoon as well but they were never referred to by those names or not that I recalled. Not to mention, they were different colors as well. Speaking of this, Hasbro has decided to release these guys in toy colors in a few months as I write this. It looks great for once; usually I'm not into the toy colors. To make this purchase I did worse, the 3 pack toy color will be released with a flash scope with some parts of the figure looking more like a camera. I might double dip if I feel like it.

As for the figures, they are easy to pose with. Articulation is nice. They look generic but then again these guys were more of the lesser of the Decepticons. Besides they have a shield and a rifle. What more did you want?

Alt mode:

Battle damage?

So these guys transform into a mini- spaceship or a targeting satellite for that matter. Very easy to transform. I noticed these guys didn't have battle damage which has been the insignia for the WFC figures thus far except one of my Refraktors had a slight paint chip or was it battle damage? You be the judge. It came like that but I noticed the other two didn't have so I'm incline to believe it's more of the former.

Fan modes

I got this from Gunner Chada on Facebook.  Supposed to be a Cybertonian Refraktor train mode or is it something else? I'm going to just leave this here.

This is something I cooked up. I guess we can call it the Refraktor canon.

The Refraktor mothership

This is the mother of them all. Discovered by a few people who got their Refraktor's early. Surprisingly, this mode was fairly easy to get to. And it looks amazing! Credit to the people who thought of this.

Soundwave mode

Yeah, this ain't much. Just something I pulled for fun. Nothing to see here much. Very easy to get this mode as well.

Camera mode (Official)

The famous camera mode the trio was meant to do in the series. Like I said earlier, you purchase three of these guys to form this. The funny thing is Hasbro/Takara advertised this in the back of their box, but does not give you instructions to get to this mode. I had to get some hints from people from the internet. For the most part I did figure it out myself but it took at least 10-15 mins for me to do so. Start taking pictures.

Conclusion

Refraktor is a well made figure. Nothing too wowzas imo, but definitely worth it if you are troop building or going for the fan mothership and Camera mode. He's fun due to those aspects. Sadly, you need to spend at least $60 for all three of them ($20 each). As for the toy color release, I may go for it. Talk about buyer's remorse. The funny thing is that it's only about $10 more with added designs and accessories.  I still have the Perfect Effect version of them release years ago and I may do a quick comparison down the line sometime later. Of course, these guys are the Refraktors you want overall to fight alongside the Decepticon ranks. The PE versions are smaller in comparison as I speak. Okadyrady, see you next time.
