Thank God for good days in Hong Kong April 2 - 5. 2019

April 2. 2019

Landed in the airport around noon and my mom just needed to have her Won ton mein cravings. Also, we were tired so we took a nap at my uncles house.

Pretty much just ate afterwards and didn't do much. We were pretty tired because of all that walking in Japan. Also we had lots of foods due to a big crowd of family members present.

April 3

Ate at a local place. Don't remember the name but here's the food. It was good. More milk tea!

Avenue of Stars where there is a whole lot of famous star's handprints plastered on the rails of the harbor. There is lots of handprints but I only showed here some. You get to see a nice view of Hong Kong Island. The reason I really wanted to see here was Bruce Lee's statue. For those who are fans of the HK music industry- the first 4 handprints of this section were known as the 4 heavenly kings of HK pop. This place is probably the biggest tourist attraction of all Hong Kong.

Mong Kok

The famous district of Mong Kok. Had to eat local here. Lots of places to eat and is pretty crowded. There is a part where its all filled with shoe stores. Just amazing. I ended up finding Legends Broadside cheap here. There are a few toy shops here and there. This place is probably more crazy at night.

Sik Sik Yuen Wong Tai Sin Temple

Mom and cousins brought me here. Nice area but not my cup of tea but it's a tourist attraction.

Just ate some hotpot here by Shatin area. Didn't take much pics but was not a big fan of seafood though I had some meat and veggies which was good enough.

April 4, 2019

Fairwood breakfast I do believe. I actually don't remember.

Tai Ping Shan (Victoria's Peak)

Transformer Knock- offs found here!

 Lunch and more pics!

So this is the famous tourist attraction Victoria's peak also where they shot Bloodsport (1987) where Jean Claude Van Damme was practicing his katas.

Videos

Please do not do this! It is people from mainland China who are notoriously famous for just being bad tourists. Seriously, why do they even sit like this?

Supreme Court

This place is about a 15 minute walk from Victoria's peak.

Monster Building- Quarry Bay

A somewhat popular place now because of the Transformers live action films. Supposed to be off-limits but there were people doing the same thing as us. My sister wanted to come here. Not bad for a photo-op.

Times Square

No joke. There is a Times Square in Hong Kong. Had this dancing crowd that consisted mainly foreigners. We ate at Din Tai Fung of all places. Lol. Anyhow, Dumbo was the theme for this place. The movie just came out at this time.

Tsim Tsai Tsui - Avenue of Stars at night.

There was a light show that my uncle brought me too which starts every 8:00pm every night. It was nice to see some city lights. Across this place is the Peninusla, a popular hotel and famous place where they used to shoot Hong Kong films.

Eat- Yau Ma Tei area.

A hole in the wall place for sticky bowl rice. Pretty good.

Yau Ma Tei police station.

April 5

Today we were going to go to Macau but first: Breakfast and a few other stops.

Hong Kong Museum

So this museum was awesome! Bruce Lee madness! There was a really nice display of Enter the Dragon setups but no pictures were allowed once you were in the display area. Nice collection of his films, his books, and even his workout equipment. There was a nice and interesting 1.5 hr documentary that me and my cousin couldn't finish due to time constraints.

Tai Tian Buddha

The Buddha says drink SB before you reach the top.

Final resting place of Anita Mui

Sunset

The cable car wait was so darn long! We waited nearly 2 hrs even with reservation. Anyhow, you spend another 15 mins to the buddha. This was historical for me because of a scene filmed here from the movie Infernal Affairs 3. Had a few dogs loose here. I don't know if they were strays or they belong to an owner somewhere but they did seem to know where to run or go to. Po Lin Monastery is close to here and is actress/singer Anita Mui's final resting place. After this we went straight to Macau. It was a great and pleasant few days in Hong Kong.
