Toy Review: Transformers Takara Tomy Legends LG44 Sharkticon and Sweep

Sharkticons, execute them! Aloha and welcome to another Takara Tomy Legends review. I actually forgot to review this guy when I picked him up with Legends Kup and Hot Rod. How does he fare? Well, let's get started!

Boxing and contents

How's about Sharkticons x 3! Box art looks nice. Typical but awesome artwork by Takara Tomy. I'm shocked that he isn't that fast according to his stats but I guess his courage makes up for it. Comes with a comic and I had no clue what was it about besides seeing Hot Rod fish up a Sharkticon which starts our Sharkticon story. Anyhow, here is the link:

Sharkticon mode and Headmaster Sweep

This mode is incredibly awesome! The paint job is almost spot on to the G1 anime cartoon though I just saw the TF movie again where the Sharkticons actually have blue hands. Maybe Takara forgot to paint their hands like they did with Scourge's pink fingertips. A theme here is that since the Sharkticons are, well, Sharks, they eat headmasters. So feed them headmasters! As for the figures, they pose nicely and joints are very tight. They play very great in this mode. Nuff said.

Guest star: Legends Scourge

Legends Scourge on Left; Sweep on right.

The Headmasters that come with the Sharkticons are almost identical to headmaster that comes with Scourge. The only real change is the Sharkticons headmaster mustache is a "W" shaped rather than a mustache protruding downwards. This is done just in case if you decided to own multiple Scourges and make one main Scourge with his army of Sweeps; I only own one Scourge though. In Headmaster robot mode, both headmaster figures are identical.

Robot mode

Well, he transforms into the robot mode we saw in the cartoons. Very easy to transform robot to Sharkticon and vice-versa. Honestly, I didn't play much in this mode though you can use his tail as a mace-like weapon. He stands nicely though I found it weird looking to see his head split into two for his heels. And then you got hands sticking out of the side of their legs. The good thing about this mode is that he can perform a myriad of poses and you can peg his mace below his wrist for some variety.

Bonus! Transformers the Movie re-enactment!

I had fun doing this. That is all I have to say.

Conclusion: Sharkticon is fun! Get loads of them for troop building. I prefer them in Sharkticon mode because, well, they are called Sharkticons. Pick them up, you won't be disappointed. I might just pick up a few more down the road.
