Unite Warriors Bruticus vs Fansproject Bruticus Part 6 of 6: Bruticus Unite! Happy 100th post!

The shocking conclusion has arrived. Or did it? Most of you by now would think Unite Warriors Bruticus will simply blow Fansproject Bruticus out of the water. However, in some ways it really doesn't. Without delay, lets see why.

One more pose!

Fansproject simply didn't disappoint here. They came fully loaded and they made sure the weapons somehow stuck onto each and every one of the combaticons. The pics explain just about everything.

Bruticus wars!

Whoops! It's more like Unite Warriors Bruticus vs Bruticus Maximus (sorta). Fansproject's upgrades also gave you the option to switch out the BM head with the G1 looking head it came out with. Honestly, BM doesn't look too bad here with the G1 aesthetics, but that is not the real reason why we are here, isn't it?

Some more pics. Mainly Fansproject Bruticus.

Wow. First off, the canons on Fansproject is really impressive. The way you can toggle with it, it really does a better job than CW/UW's version. You can also place two of the blasters on the side panels of his back cannon for storage. His Hands, guns, and feet still stand the test of time. There is actually more articulation than the CW/UW version. Thanks to the feets, you are able to strike a pose in some stylish manner without having the entire unit fall repeatedly. The only real complaint I have with the Fansproject version is that his head is smaller and looks more like that of Ant-mans (Marvel) head. His chest is bulky but I guess that was the best they could do. Both side's designated weapons are best left on their side. For the most part they aren't inter-changable.

Conclusion: Imo, there isn't much of an comparison if you compared them as Combaticons, but as Bruticus, there was a reason why Fansproject Bruticus stood as classics Bruticus for a decent amount of time until CW/UW Bruticus came to play. Fansproject Bruticus, imo, is still an amazing figure based on replayability and looks. I'm still wowed by how impressive this guy is over the years. Well, if you are a Bruticus collector, then I say own them all, otherwise, you might as well stick with the Hastak version due to cost and it being the official product. Good night folks. Happy 100th post of this site!

  1. Thinking on this subject, I've realized that Combiner Wars came out 6 years too late. If they had announced it back in 2008 and came out in 2009 they wouldn't have had to compete with third party combiners, hell we might have gotten Fansproject Explorer and Muitioner for CW Bruticus in 2010, and how awesome would that have been? I really wanted the Third Party companies to start doing replacement figures but except for Lone Wolf/Motor Master and that canceled Dr. Wu Mix Master no one took a stab at it. Because by that time they mostly moved onto doing their own figures. Which is a shame because it would sell extremely well for just a few alterations and a boost in size wince they're a tad too small. Where's Wei Jiang or Kubianbao when you need them? {Normally I don't condone knock offs of 3rd party figures but Explorer and Muitioner are well out of production now. So Fansproject won't be losing money from it}

    CW/UW Bruticus was meh with tiny canons, Swindle being a Hound recolor with a different head {Hound's mold was utter crap} and Blastoff just got the worse of it. Yeah Brawl's hips aren't that great but it's not the worst I've seen, Blastoff ended up either a crap jet repaint or a crap shuttle with a crap robot mode. And the atrocious Hand/Foot guns that for whatever reason Hasbro went with just made everything worse. If we got a CW/UW upscaled. Hell here's a quick, albeit a tad sloppy rendition of CW Bruticus if it could be used with Fansproject Explorer and Muitioner sets. And Good God is it sexy{no homo}: https://sta.sh/012csc5jqa1v

    1. Third parties were awesome for its time. Now I try to save money and buy the official versions though you can see sometimes the third parties do certain things better (i.e HFG, weapons, and certain molds and coloring). With the exception of Blast off, too bad Takara didn't go for the Computron route on Bruticus where they retooled most of the figures to sport the look they wanted.

    2. Yeah, like I said I really wanted better for Bruticus since he's my favorite combiner team and I really don't like either version of Blastoff. I'd love for someone to do a CW/UW upscaled and retooled versions of the Fansproject Explorer and Muitioner sets. That would just make CW/UW Bruticus perfect in my opinion.
