For this part: I have Energon Barricade. When I started to collect this figure, the third party accessories were nearly sold out. I managed to snatch Munitioner and Explorer but I was lacking the BM molds. As a forum member of TFW2005.com, I was able to obtain the Energon version of Barricade through another forum member. Btw, here are the pics.

For vehicle mode, he looks decent in his original toy mold. With the Fansproject upgrades, he looked more awesome and a force to be reckoned with. It made the figure twice as bigger (longer) or so it seems. I love the gimmick where you can you use Explorer (Not Blast-Off) and place him on Barricade as a take off port. FP really did a great job with his canons which looked like his cannons from the G1 era. Looking good, can't really complain here.
Unite Warriors and FP vehicle mode comparisons.
| UW Onslaught vs original (no upgrades) |
Overall, you can see that looks wise, they are eventually matched providing that the Energon mold has the upgrades. Both can twist their turrets and fire almost on any degree. I still give props to the FP version because once again the turrets looks more closer to the G1 version. I do prefer the UW overall, but FP's isn't too shabby.
Robot mode (UW vs FP)
This isn't much of a fair comparison because the UW version is the definitive version of Onslaught based on looks itself. Barricade is pretty much the stand in for Onslaught in the Energon line but he is still a decent figure with pretty tight joints (sometimes too tight). Both can pretty much use each other's weapons which is a plus. But mad props to FP for making Barricade even more awesome with his array of weapons. If you like accessories, the FP version is definitely a step up from the CW/UW versions for they are kinda lacking in weaponry. Anyhow, thank you for stopping by and see you soon for part II where I compare and contrast another combaticon member.
