Thank God for a good day in Kauai March 24, 2016. Part 1 of 3

Finally got a couple days off so I decided to spend sometime off with my brother and his wife in the Garden Isle! I had an early morning flight at 6:00AM and still had to work an evening shift that ended at 11:30PM. By the time I went home I was only able to take a quick nap. After getting past TSA in Honolulu international airport, I had a big breakfast at Burger King.

Very filling. Landed in Kauai within 20 minutes or so. Our stay was in Castle Mokihana in Kapaa. However, we un-successfully tried to get an early check-in. So we decided to drive down a few blocks and ate at Kountry Kitchen.

I was full from the earlier breakfast for the most part though I didn't mind the extra calorie intake. Ninja diet indeed!

After the delicious breakfast, we went across the street to enjoy the beach views!

Because we couldn't check in until 3:30PM, we drove across the island to Waimea Canyon. Long drive.

Weather was overcast but thank God it didn't rain. After wards, we stopped by Hanapepe side to have a look-see. My brother got a slushie while he was there. It's a small town of shops and restaurants. Love the Lilo and Stitch reference btw.

We then drove up the road to eat a quick lunch. I was still full from all the big breakfast I had so I shared food with my sis-in-law. Some pics for your pleasure at Kauai Ramen. I had better.

After all this, we returned to Castle Mokihana to check-in. We were still a little early prior to the 3:00PM check-in, so we hung around the area a bit before finally being granted a room.

View from our room

Lots of chickens roam free in Kauai. From what I heard, during Hurricane Iniki in 1992, the hurricane destroyed many chicken coups freeing every chicken, hen, and roosters allowing them residence all over the island. All I have to say is that these chickens get in free to any hotel. Good for them.

After a quick rest, we went for dinner in Lihue. My sis-in-law had cravings for Chinese food.

It was time to call it a night but before we did that we drove back to Kapaa and went across the street to have some dessert; my brother was craving it actually. I decided to up my ninja diet with a Tahitian-like vanilla flavored cone. Awesome way to end the night!

Day 2 coming up soon. Thank you for stopping by. Mahalos and take care folks!
