Vehicle Mode:
Blurr transforms into a sports car identical to Generations Drift. In comparison to his G1 cartoon look, he basically has wheels in this version rather than a floating mini hovercraft-like spaceship. I'm mixed on this because I ain't used to his IDW design but a transformation is better than having none. As an extra goodie, you can stuff his rifle underneath his belly.
Robot Mode:
Not bad. I actually think his IDW head sculpt looks much cooler than his original G1 head. He pretty much has the same gimmick as Generations Drift except all his weapons are guns instead of swords. His rifle can be kept in the back whereas Drift held his sword. His two mini guns are kept in holsters by his thighs where Drift kept his mini knifes. There is no problem with his articulation as this guy can do an array of poses with his guns. I think he looks much cooler with his two guns though he can do some pretty neat poses with his rifle. Because these pics were taken in the past, I didn't know about his sniper pose found here: TFwikiBlurr. Cool, right?
Overall:
Roughly a year later, Takara released their version with the United line. The results were mixed to most fans. If I have to say, his vehicle mode in Takara looks astonishing with the metallic paint. However, he seems to be one dimensional with his nearly all-blue color scheme in robot mode. The yellow belly and red knees for the Hasbro version gave him more detail. But if you are in dire need to fill in your season 3 TF figures, give Blurr, whether United or Generations a go!
