Transformers Legacy United Cosmos review

12

At long last, after a year of no Transformer toy review. A Transformer has crash landed amid this blog: Transformers Legacy United Cosmos!

Box Art and Contents

I thought it was hilarious his gun and flag came in a sandwich like wrapper. That's a nice side panel design though I have no idea who most of those Transformers are.

Standing Tall

Cosmos is a thing of a beauty. Nicely designed and well handled. Poses very well. Has a waist swivel surprisingly. Honestly, from the first glance, it didn't look like he had one. Cosmos is probably the first TF that you will have fun posing him with a flag rather than a war weapon.

UFO

Also probably the only Transformer in history to have a somewhat awkward mode: UFO style! Not complaining. You were probably sick and tired of playing with all those cars and planes at this point right? Any how,  you can see that he is the size of your palm roughly. Fairly easy transformation mode that my nephew could do it without instructions. You got some 5mm ports to plug in his weapons so use your imagination at this category.

Cosmos crash landed in Hokkaido back in Feb 2025 and started flagging it in a Shinkansen and in the nearby snow.

Final words:

Cosmos is a well designed figure. I do like his design actually. He plays and handles well. No problems overall on my end. I did have fun having him play stranger up in Hokkaido. His UFO mode is a nice change from all the cars and planes we been used to. Though he is a flying vehicle if we were to be honest about the matter. He just looks and plays different and that is not a bad thing. To wrap things up, the 400th review post is coming next! Probably won't shock you in who I chose for that post but stay tuned! Christ is king.

The day nobody knew about this movie:

MV5-BOTgx-ODk4-OTQt-Mjc2-MC00-NGRm-LWJl-Mm-Mt-NTdl-Zj-I1-NDE0-Nz-E0-Xk-Ey-Xk-Fqc-Gc-V1
Looney Tunes property of WB; Distributed by Ketchup Entertainment

Caught this with my nephew one afternoon. Never knew there was a Looney Tunes film that was released. The poster isn't even on Joblo.com. I decided to just look at some movies playing and voila! A Looney Tunes film. Look at Wikipedia for the synopsis for I won't be doing it here. All I will say is that my theater had at least 11 people including us. The bad marketing for this flick has pretty much put WB on some heat because they continue to shelve legacy characters. Look up Coyote vs Acme up; though there maybe some light at the end of the tunnel for that flick as you are reading this.

As for this flick, there is a twist to the end of this film and it gets revealed why the flick is named the way it is. Your heroes as you can see is Porky Pig and Daffy Duck, whom are both voiced by Eric Bauza who does a fantastic job doing so. Petunia Pig also makes her re-debut here on the big screen though I don't recall her character much while growing up to Looney Tunes.

All I am going to say is that this flick was ok for me. Some of the Looney Tunes slapstick makes it here while some parts of this flick is done to please a more modern audience. Especially the beginning where there are some butt jokes literally that maybe should had been truncated. Bugs Bunny sits this one out so I am spoiling it now that if you are expecting him, don't. I understand he is the flagship character of Looney Tunes, but for once, Daffy and Porky is all you have. Also, if you are expecting the Chuck Jones's version of Daffy, look elsewhere again. This is the Looney 30s/40s version of Daffy. The one that likes to go Whoo hoo, bounce around and smash things. This is the version I really grew up with so I had no qualms.

As I write this, the film is starting to gain some momentum off the net, also allowing theaters to broadcast this flick for another week or so. If you are a big fan of Looney Tunes, you owe yourself this treat. Not much 2d animation around these days and this film delivers in this category. I think its worth a watch just to relieve any stress you've been dealing with as of lately. It doesn't hurt to see some wackiness on the big screen.

Mortal Kombat Conquest: The show that should had got a 2nd season.

 Mortal Kombat Conquest

I just got back into watching the entire season (the only season) again on the Max channel. 22 episodes of MK tv lore. Was it worth the hype? So many people claim today that it is cheesy by today's standards, which I do agree partially. Not only that but the show dragged on from time to time.

Well, I'll just jump into it. It was very nostalgic for me to re-visit the series. Besides some of the campiness I'd mentioned. It was a good series after all. The fight scenes still hold up very well today. Especially the Sub-Zero vs Scorpion fight we all grew to love in "The Serpent and the Ice" episode. Shao Kahn was portrayed as the evil and cunning emperor Earthrealm grew to fear. Brian Thompson's  portrayal of the emperor in MK Annihilation just left a lot to be desired. There were lots of women in skimpy outfits in this show and it was around that time I found Angelica Bridges and Sung-Hi Lee to be super attractive. Nearly 30 years later, my opinion still stands.

We all know by now that there was no 2nd season because nobody was left to pick up the tab as Bruce Locke (Shang Tsung) or Jeff Meek (Raiden, Shao Kahn) had mentioned.

The show premiered pretty much after the abysmal MK Annihilation. Perhaps it didn't quite recover from the stench that flick was. On the contrary, the show was very successful especially appearing after WCW Nitro (another show the buzzed off a few years later). But Jeff Meek said it best that the show was successful but no money came in.

Around the 2 minute mark, Jeff Meek confirms this.

According to google, the show was also too expensive to produce. Budget and financial reasons, right? Going back to the fight scenes, most fans speculate this is the reason why the show got too costly. The fights were so good but also expensive at that same time.

I would like to write a long report about this show rocked and what not but I felt others had already done that.

Yes, it was amazing that we got to see Kitana, Noob Saibot, Reptile, and a few other characters that appeared in the video games. Then again, some of them are playing ancestors or a whole new other character based on the same name: Sub-Zero and Scorpion come to mind. Keep in mind that this show takes place at least 500 years prior to the original MK 1 timeline; yes this show is a prequel to MK 1995 and Annihilation.

Reptile and Rain are done justice in this show btw. They are shown how menacing they are as opposed to their movie counterparts (MK 1 Reptile fight scene was amazing though I'll admit). Annihilation Rain, well, you know how that turned out.

The Jarring aspect of this show, as to no surprise, is that darn cliffhanger ending everyone has critiqued over the years. If the shadow priests are that powerful, why didn't Kahn just sent them in the first place to rid of his enemies? This segment also comes right after the show introduces Kreeya, who appeared to be the new threat to both Earthrealm and Outworld. She is quickly dispatched and we have this rushed ending.

Other besides that, the only other negative thing I couldn't shake off was how I always saw Kung Lao's stunt double fighting all the time. The stunt double really looked more taller than the actual actor. And  from that point on, I had to look at who was fighting with a stunt double and what not.

Not only that but why did we have two actresses playing Kitana? I'm thinking Dara Tomanovich couldn't reprise her role after her one and only appearance in "The Essence." I liked her simply because she bore a closer resemblance to Talisa Soto. The other actress, Audie England was cute but could had easily passed for another character. Then again, she portrayed Mileena after all who is not a clone created by Shang Tsung in this timeline.

Well, I have a lot to say but that's all I'm going to get off my chest for now. Mksecrets has the full storyline including season 2.

https://www.mksecrets.net/index.php?section=mkc&lang=eng&contentID=5900&title=Mortal-Kombat-Conquest-Ending-and-Story-Timeline

Scroll to Chapter V btw if you want to read how season 2 would had played out.

It appeared that the Elder Gods undid everything and Shao Kahn would be banned from appearing in every MK tournament thereafter. And the Shadow Priests had to take a back seat and let everything unfold. Seriously, a secret weapon so powerful that only Raiden could defeat? I'm still baffled by that.

Forever in our dreams will we be able to dream of a season 2. Lots of story arcs that could had been tied up or told. I'm pretty sure we would had seen what happened to Sub-Zero especially he was chased by Smoke at the end of his season 1 arc. What about Jola of the Black Dragon? Or what did Noob Saibot do for 16 episodes after he made his appearance? I'm pretty sure this be all explained had a S2 sufficed. But you know as well as I that Shao Kahn spoke it best as he taunted Raiden, this show is "dead!"

End 2024

Well, this marks the first year in a while that I did no Transformer review minus the TF One movie review. I do have 86 Swoop, Optimus Prime and a few other figures I would like to delve into. Hopefully in 2025. The world is a crazy place now like how the Bible has predicted. Stay close to Jesus folks. Surprisingly, the page that received the most views created in 2024 was the Spider-man 3 review.

Runner up is TASM #2

20240514-105833

Arguably the films that didn't do too hot in their respective franchises garnered the most views. Maybe some kind of cult following. Anyhow. I will try to do some TF reviews again next year since I got a new camera. Take care folks and take Jesus with you.

Movie recap: Transformers One and Venom: Last Dance

Technically I saw Transformers one back in Sept. I just realized I shot a pic of the poster they gave me. Since I just saw Venom: The Last Dance, I decided to add both posters here.

20240921-215814

So Tranformers One basically, and finally, tells a story just about Transformers. No Bayverse explosions or annoying humans. I won't delve into the movie much but it is one of the better TF films of the past decade. Sadly it didn't do well in the box office. Some say its because of the bad first trailer. Some say thanks to all the Bayfilms, people are tired of TF.

20241102-132126

Venom is a decent send off to the Eddie Brock/Venom character. The film I thought was not bad to how the internet is making it out to be, but it suffers from adding lots of pointless characters such as the doctors. We get a tease on one of the female doctors and her traumatic childhood experience and how it's gonna shape and play out at the end. In between all this, we seem to focus on her other doctor friend instead. Then at the end we go back to the traumatized one. This should had been one character and that was it. And then we just had to have comic relief with the hippie family. In some parts, they came in handy, but I felt like they tried too hard to fit too many characters with little or no development. They got us interested and there was no payoff for some of these characters.

TMNT: Shredder's Revenge - Radical Reptiles DLC | Available Now

Final TMNT Shredder revenge update.

It was nice to see this game still getting some love two years later. As soon as the trailer dropped I bought the DLC the next day; it is $4 btw. The DLC sparked back some life to the online community on Steam. I'm pretty sure I can say the same for the other console communities as well. The characters are pretty fun to use. Still getting used to finding their niche and stuff, but here it is again, TMNT Radical Reptiles DLC-- the last TMNT update.

Video credit to original user. I am only using the video for informational purposes.

Spider-man: No Way Home re-release 6/3/24

20240604-134327

Spider-Mondays have officially ended. The version showcased here was actually "the more fun stuff version." It doesn't help out the film too much though you got mainly extra banter here and there.

So this is the nostalgic version of Spider-man which brings back Tobey Maguire and Andrew Garfield's Spider-men along with their rogues gallery. It was a nice re-watch plus half of the audience did clap for Tobey's re-appearance.

I made a long rant on Aunt May and how her character just became a different character all of a sudden after 2.5 films (Civil War included) in the Transformers board. Not to mention, her version of "Responsibility" is underwhelming and was really not needed to be honest. But they had to put it for nostalgia and a reason to merge the Spider-men together. But I'm going to spare a long rant about why it didn't work here. Overall, the movie is great. It's nostalgic but doesn't entirely break new grounds too much. The Multi-verse concept works decently here though its overblown now in other films. Anyhow. See you next time.

Spider-man: Far from Home Re-release 5/27/24

20240530-082128

Caught this with my best bud. Though its far from perfect, Far From Home does a good job in revamping the Mysterio character into a more serious role. Got a free poster this time again. Not sure why certain films were lacking in those aspects. Anyhow, lets finish the re-releases with No Way Home next week.

Spider-man Homecoming back in theaters 5/20/24

Caught this with my nephew this past Monday. They did not give us posters this time though the turnout was great imo.

This MCU is quite entertaining though they messed up some characters like Flash and MJ. Anyways, Far from Home hits next week!

Below is the link on how the poster should had looked had they distributed in my area.

Transformers 40th Anniversary Event May 19, 2024

20240519-120732 20240519-120728 20240519-120802 20240519-121101 20240519-121504 20240519-121522 20240519-123041 20240519-123528

Caught the Sunday screening of the Transformers 40th Anniversary screening. This was not the screening of the 86 movie but the first 4 episodes which includes More than meets the Eye 1-3 and Transport to Oblivion. The real bonus was that the first episode was re-dubbed by new and old veterans. Frank Todaro did a really good job as Starscream filling in the for the late Chris Latta. Prior to the screening, there were toy ads and previews for the upcoming Transformers one film. There was also outtakes of the redubs after episode 1.

From Episode 2 and beyond, it was just the original aired episodes. The screening goes downhill after the outtakes. It just felt like filler at this point. They should had just ended imo after More than meets the eye episode 3.

When the episodes end, there is a PSA with Bumblebee and a "In Memoriam" quickie with now deceased voice actors. Then the auditorium just lits up. This was found to be very irksome by the TF community. No final words but just a remembrance quickie and that is it, the show is over.

It is what it is. This was pretty much for true fans or people who really grew up with TF. Even then, it was kinda of disappointing. I really wished they redub all 4 episodes. Not only that but at least have some kinda of thank you letter towards the end.  At least that would had made it a little worthwhile. Well, see you next with Spider-man Homecoming re-release.

River City Girls quickie review.

Initially this game got on my nerves, but as usual, I try to play it through and then I managed to beat the game and learn some of the tricks. I can't pull off those amazing infinite juggles the pros can do but I learned enough moves to defeat the opposition. This game caught my eye simply because there are references to Double Dragon. Some characters make cameos in here. One of them is actually a boss!

I am aware that this game is a tribute to River City Ransom of old school NES fame. However, I don't recollect on the time I played it on the NES. I haven't played the hard mode or found the secret shop but I have completed the game 100%. Well, this game is fun though it grinded my gears a bit in comparison to Double Dragon: Rise of the Dragons which is produced by the same company. The game is also a little repetitive as well. Anyhow see you next time.
