Transformers Legacy Evolution Devcon review

 

Aloha folks, I am back here with another review. And this time it is with Devcon. Another figure that I held off opening for months. How does he fare as a figure? Without delay, let's get started.

Boxing   

We get the hollow boxing as always. He has a pretty cool artwork where he looks like he crashing a party (jumping in). The QR code didn't work again for me. Like I said in the previous Crashbar review, I wonder if it is a time sensitive profile we are dealing with?

Out of the box

Where do I start? He doesn't feel as light or loose like Crashbar. His weapon gimmick isn't his limbs but a rifle and two thrusters which can be formed into a three pronged weapon. The thrusters can be worn on the back to make it look like a jetpack, but I forgot to do a shoot on it. I do like his Cybertronian design and color scheme. Very similar to his G1 appearance (his only one actually in the episode The Gambler). Here he is using Crashbar's weapons as a bonus. Looking good so far. Devcon is really well designed. He is very good to fidget with as well. Has torso and head swivel as well.

Alt mode

 

Very easy to transform into. Nice looking spaceship if you ask me. He here is in a size comparison with CB. Exchange weapons for some added fun. 

Some extra shots I did plus you can use his arm thruster as arm cannons! I love those Megaman gimmicks!

Conclusion

Solid figure overall. For a character that is obscure to the casual fan, Devcon is done nicely, plays well, and looks amazing. One of the best of the Legacy line thus far. Pick him up if you see him.

Welcome folks. It's been a long time, almost half a year since I did a TF review. I finally got around to doing one. TF Legacy Crashbar everyone! Without delay, lets get started!

Boxing

   

Your standard cheap as heck boxing. No plastic windows. I had this guy in his box prison for nearly half a year. Time to let him out. *Note: I'm not sure if it's because I was late to the party, but I couldn't scan his QR code. It would bring me to a Hasbro profile select screen. When I scanned Legacy Bombshell, it worked fine so it could possibly be a time issue. The profiles get taken down after a small window of time. That is dumb if that is the case. *

Crashing the party 

So this guy is very light and a weaponizer. To a degree he can split his limbs altogether for a gimmick that is shown on the box. You can even take his arms off which is not shown here in this review, but I stumbled upon it by accident. As a figure, he is a little too small and light. And because his limbs can come off, he comes off very loose at times. Where he shines is his weapons gimmick. Look at the pics and see for yourself. One of his wheels can come off as a bladed weapon. He was a very fun to toy around with. Use your imagination here. As for his design, I like it. Once again, wish he was voyager size or something. 

Bah Gawd! Say this in the Jim Ross voice! This guy was a difficult transformation. Without the instructions, I struggled forever. Another motorcycle for the Junkions as expected. The only drawback is that he is very small once again. Just look at the Devcon pic. Imagine putting 86 Wreck-Gar on this guy. Yeah, that ain't happening. There isn't much flexibility in this mode except it looks decent and his front wheel can be angled to your liking. The seat can be stretched forward a little giving it an elongated feel. This mode, once again, is loose as well as the parts can come off fairly easy. 

Conclusion:

I'm not a big fan of the weaponizer gimmicks usually but I was impressed with Crashbar. I have yet to pair him with his fellow Junkions, so see that in the near future. My biggest complaint is pretty much CB being light and loose at times. That Motorcycle mode was a pain in the butt to transform into I'll reiterate here again. Overall, if you can look past some of these faults, CB is a fun figure to play with and he will serve nicely in your post G1 Junkion collection. Laters. 

TMNT: Shredders Revenge DLC update: Dimension Shellshock

Just when you thought TMNT couldn't get any more fun. 8/31 marked the release of the Dimension Shellshock DLC of TMNT: Shredder's Revenge. Is it worth it?

Big yes! The download adds Karai and Usagi Yojimbo as new playable characters. The new storyline is found in the "Survival" mode; you can still use the new characters in the previous modes as well. This mode can be overwhelming at times and it is definitely loads of fun playing it with people online though your experience may vary by people who aren't too familiar with the game. Sometimes if that was the case, it was better that you played on your own. 

So far I've only tested Karai. She is slow on foot but makes up with her bizarre and devastating supers. Also new skins are added to previous characters as well though some need to be unlocked while playing and earning rewards in survival mode. 

*Update 9/4* I tried out Usagi and he is a powerhouse with his regular combo attacks. He is also the only character to also perform an ground attack like combo in the air, so you can mix up his ground combo > pop up> air attack combo for some deadly results. This will prove to be useful especially against the new breed of enemies in survival mode. The only drawback I feel is his air super which is a vertical attack when every other character is an angled attack; basically the opponent needs to right underneath him while he is airborne. Though it can cause some pretty devastating damage, you can surely mess up when you are so used to jumping towards the opponent. With this mindset, you end up stopping short in front of the opponent. So remember to use this while you are directly right above your opponent. As a result, this is the only air super I hardly use.

Anyways, still waiting to do the next TF review. I think I'm just losing interest at the moment.

I caught this Sunday in the afternoon. It was quite a turnout in the theaters. Many people still into the Dragon. All I have to say is that Bruce Lee is still impressive in the big screen and the way he moves is still uncanny after all these years.

 I remember growing up playing MK alongside SF. The last MK game I ever touched, sadly, was MK vs DC. Feelings on that one was mixed. I never tried the reboot and now another reboot is in the horizon. Anyhow, memories.

Super Mario Bros movie last showing and small update 5/31/2023.

 I've been a little on the busier side so the TF reviews are on hiatus for now. I do have Legacy Crashbar for sometime but I'm busy with work and other things. 

I decided to take my nephew for his first showing in the theaters. I choose Super Mario Bros for him. This was my third time seeing the film (though no biggie since I have the $21.99 pass/month unlimited screening from Regal). What can I say? The film is almost out for two months and seeing my nephew enjoy this film was priceless. He really enjoyed it from beginning to end. 

As we left the auditorium, I noticed the Super Mario digital marquee for all the auditoriums disappeared. We saw it on screen 6 and it was now replaced by Guardians of the Galaxy 3. I thought that was neat that we got to see the final screening of SMB in our area. 

Anyhow, hopefully I can get the Crashbar review up and running soon. Later folks.

Return of the Jedi (1997) "Victory Celebration" Ending [HD]

I'm only using this video as the version I prefer. I like Sebastian Shaw's ending as a happy old man rather then young Anakin. I am aware of all the arguments on why fans are torn between old and young, but like I said, I still prefer old instead. If you like young, then that's ok.
