Transformers Toys Generations Legacy Deluxe Decepticon Dragstrip Review (With Unite Warriors Dragstrip comparisons)

The cases are not rising. More media nonsense!

The first of the Legacy Stunticons arrives! Aloha and welcome to another edition of me just casually reviewing G1 inspired figures. How does the first of the Stunticons fare? Let's get started!

Boxing

Here's your packaging and as usual, you have no clear plastic window in front of the figure. What's slightly new is the top and back of the box now includes a numerical indicator of Dragstrip being part of the Menasor line-up.

Here's a link to his bio

Standing tall

Joined rifle

Dragstrip comes with a purple backdrop. He also comes with two mini-rifles that can be combined. DS does have a waist swivel, tight joints, ankle tilts, and a few gaps here and there. I did try to do some take-a-knee poses in the beginning, but his hamstring section prevents him from going down all the way. You can, in a sense, have him take-a-knee but you need to open up his legs which defeats the purpose in doing so. He can do an array of poses with his dual blasters. You can also plug his weapons wherever you can peg it. However sometimes, when I try to bend or cross his arms, his arms would pop off literally.  He does look like his G1 animation counterpart I give him that despite having shoulder blades now. Don't let his forehead color fool you. It looks dark sometimes from afar but it is actually purple like the toons.

Team Drag (w/Unite Warriors Dragstrip)

Team Drag at your service. I definitely prefer Legacy for the looks and overall re-playability. But UW Dragstrip isn't so bad either. He seems to have more of an orange tone so he isn't as accurate to the show as I once thought, but for a time he was my Dragstrip. I do still find UW/CW's head funny looking; almost clownish. Both can swap each other's weapons.

Alt mode and comparisons

Who you like best? I prefer Legacy DS for the most part but I still think UW/CW looks nice. Not to mention, I dig the car seat on UW/CW. Both are easy to transform into and back to robot mode. What is irksome about the Legacy one is that Hastak decided to use the mushroom peg wheels! Nothing a little 3rd party can't fix. Sheesh, you waste so much money for one figure these days.

Legacy thus far

Well, this is my Legacy wave one complete. Once again mainly G1.

Menasor formation?

I was curious in how people were popping this guy in half. Thanks to PrimeVsPrime on Youtube, this is how you do it. I circled the green part for reference. Make sure you have something thin enough to poke this slim rectangular button. While this is a cool feature, this can also be terrible if you don't have any tools thin enough to do so. Sometimes I like to just do everything on the get go.

Conclusion

This marks the end of my Legacy wave one. Can't wait for the rest of the Stunticons to arrive. I wonder if the rest of the limbs will use the same push feature DS uses. Anyhow, DS is a nice figure that is worth playing and getting. He just got the pop-off arms and the mushroom pegs you have to contend with. Otherwise, enjoy.
