Aloha folks, without delay, we take a look at Netflix exclusive WFC-09 Bumblebee! Let's get started!
What's in the box?
I bought my NF exclusives from Anime-export.com. It was roughly the same price as it's U.S. release. The only difference was that I had to pay $40 shipping for both Soundwave (whom I will review next) and Bumblebee. It's worth it now I guess due to the fact many people are still trying to find these guys. The U.S. Soundwave release is pretty much going for $80+ now. He was $38 in AE, so not too shabby. The box slightly differs to the U.S. release due to having Japanese characters written in various places of the box. Also, the Volkswagon logo is in holographic sticker whereas is the US release is printed I do believe. The instruction manual is completely in English so this release pretty much used the US release pamphlet for this one. They also give you a nice backdrop which is based on his character artwork on the side of the box. On the other side of the box is character artwork for the the show; it's actually the same artwork used from the Earthrise box.
Bumblebee
BB is pretty much a retool/remold of ER Cliffjumper. He even has the same weapons (which I will get more on to later) as Cliffy. Like Cliffy, he is missing his autobot insignia on his front chest. I know he didn't become an autobot till later on the show, but it would had been nice for Hastak to just slap it on his chest. His back can come off and be used as a shield or partformer as some fans put it. BB looks nice. He plays the same as Cliffy so I guess that is a plus. There are pegs on each side of his forearms allowing you to use his guns like arm cannons.
Alt mode
If you are familiar in transforming Cliffy, then BB is a walk in the park. He has the same gimmick for storing the weapons below him just as Cliffy did. The only difference is the visual aesthetics as BB is pretty much a Volkswagon. I just wonder why they couldn't do this mode for Cliffy as well. I really dig the nostalgic look.

Alt mode comparison
Despite BB looking awesome and retro in his alt mode, the lack of a 5mm port puts him in a severe disadvantage if he was to fight in this mode. However, there is the fan mode that Hastak revealed where you can flip both of their bumpers and stick their cannons on using a black peg hidden inside. For those wondering, you can swap their weapon parts. I did it on this shoot. Remember that BB's weapons are the darker variation. The back bumpers can be switched but BB's bumper is curved making it difficult to stay aligned with Cliffy's top hood. Cliffy's bumper fits BB's hood just fine. I like BB's alt mode better but if you were into combat mode, then Cliffy wins here.
Conclusion.
Get him for $20. I don't think he is worth more than that, honestly. I was never too big into the mini-bots but BB plays decent for what he is worth. If you like Cliffy, then BB will add on to your collection nicely. His Volkswagon mode definitely stands out especially if you are gee-wunner fan. Thank you and see you next time. Here is how he scales to an actual deluxe figure.
